Frigidaire 5,000 BTU 115V Window Mounted Mini-Compact Air Conditioner with Mechanical Controls, FFRA0511Q1

I bought the AC for my bedroom, which is in the south west corner of our house . The sun sets and heats my room a full 6° hotter than the rest of the house. I installed the unit, turned it on and oh man, it was wonderful. Just crank it to 7 on high and get the room frigid, then turn it down and let it go. Keeps my room cooler than the rest of the house now. Only problem is now the kids are sleeping in my floor enjoying the cool air too. :) I'm super sensitive to smell and sounds, and it doesn't bother me at all. No weird issues. It doesn't turn on and off, it keeps a fan running and switches the AC on when needed, so it never really changes sound and doesnt wake me. It actually lulls me to sleep better than my fan did. My only issue was the change in light entering my room through the accordion folds. I covered them with black construction paper and then white duct tape, still looks pretty, but keeps the light out. It was definitely worth the money and I'd tell everybody to buy one.

Bought it for my son's bedroom because our central gave up the ghost and died. Prices on a new one came in at $10,000- not a price an old lady on M edicare could afford. Installation was easy he said and he had to get out his quilt because it cools the room so well he's shivering! Highest praise for this little unit!

I purchased this a/c unit as a gift. The product reviews and price were the determining factor in choosing this item. So far it has performed very well. This unit is installed in a small one bedroom apartment, approximately 400sq ft.. It cools the entire apartment down to a nice temperature in a relatively short amount of time. My only complaint is that it doesn't shut off on its own once a cool temperature is reached. There is no thermostat to regulate the temperature so if the unit is on, it stays on until you physically turn the knob to shut it off. The installation was about what I expected. I had someone who had previous experience with air conditioners install it. The instructions were a little vague in a few areas, but manageable with a little common sense. Overall, a nice unit at a very reasonable price.

I like the compact lines and they provide sufficient air conditoning for my needs. I do not like the room to feel like a meat locker, so it is just cold enough for me. They were slightly more difficult to assemble than I had expected, but my son, who is much stonger than I am put them together and placed them in the windows. I bought two for my house and I am happy with them and glad that I was able to get a product that had sides attached and was manual controls.

I use this because my central ac cannot keep up with the heat I set it up in my bedroom for my dog. He seems to be comfortable. The room is way under the square footage but it still seems a little warm to me

I Was Excited To Receive My AC Only To Discover It Was Damaged...Extremely Poor Packaging!!! The Side Grills Were Dented, And The Fan Was Broken In 2 Different Places! I Was Able To Repair The Damage Myself, But I Shouldn't Have To Do Anything But Plug It In And Enjoy.

Our window space is 15 inches. The product dimensions state that the width of this unit is 13.25 inches. This is incorrect. It is 16 inches wide. The width and length are backwards.
