Don't think just buy. I bought it for my new apartment. I'm impressed with how beautifully crafted it is to say it's not a full size. The freezer space is more than I expected. It is almost as big as my old fridge. Maybe 3 or 4 inches shorter. I say go for it.!!! It's big enough for a family of 3 maybe even four. My next buy is a little trunk freezer that sales on here for 99$ Thank you Frigidaire!!!!!
I've owned one of these from 2020, bought during lockdown, could not find a single review online and made a video- people enjoyed it and trusted my word. I have it away to someone who had no refrigerator a couple years ago and bought another this year. Great product, I don't like to start once I've found something I like. The house I am in currently is under construction (I am doing it myself) and the kitchen needs more work- so rather than move the big fridge I got another :)
- Frigidaire EFR780-B-6COM Refrigerator (Curtis International) Buyer Beware: Walmart Sells Junk with Useless Warranty – I bought this Frigidaire EFR780-B-6COM backup fridge from Walmart.com in September 2025, along with their extended warranty, expecting reliability. Placed it in my dry, enclosed 2-car garage (roof, drywall, standard electric outlet) on low setting (2-3) for energy savings. Recent storm hit – turned it up, added ice cream to the freezer for the first time. Ice cream melted completely. Freezer doesn't freeze! Contacted Walmart – they punted to Frigidaire, who sent me to Curtis International (their Canadian partner). Sent all requested photos. Their response? Warranty VOIDED because it's "not garage-ready" and garage use isn't allowed. See their email below – absurd for a "backup" fridge! Hi, Good day! We regret to inform you that we will be unable to proceed with the claim because the unit was used in a garage area. Please be advised that the unit is not garage-ready and should not be used/placed in the garage. In this case, it voids the manufacturer's warranty. John Snow, Curtis International Limited Garage? It's climate-controlled, not some shed! Nowhere in Walmart/Frigidaire listings does it say "NO GARAGES." Curtis hides behind fine print while Walmart takes your money and shrugs. Total scam – avoid this product, Walmart's warranty, and Curtis support.
I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. I bought this refrigerator from Walmart less than two months ago, and within just a few days of using it, it stopped cooling properly. The bottom section does not cool at all. This is completely unacceptable for a brand-new appliance that cost me $200. Now I am being told that it is not eligible for return. How is that fair when the refrigerator was defective almost immediately after purchase? A refrigerator is not a disposable item. It should last much longer than a few days or weeks. Spending $200 on an appliance that fails almost instantly and then being denied a return feels very disrespectful to the customer. I expected better quality and better customer service from Walmart. I would not recommend this product based on my experience. Very disappointed.
After delivery waited a few days before unpacking. Ran well (cooled very well) for about a week. Then stopped working for a day, then started to work again for a day, then stop for a day, then work for a couple of days, then stop for a couple of days, until I had enough. Went back to Walmart who wasn't any help, they referred me to Frigidaire who wouldn't touch it, and referred me to Curtis Intl. (a partner of Frigidare) who I'm trying to get a refund. What a round robin circle jerk!!!!!
Showed up late Friday, let it set for 24 hours prior to plugging it in. (not sure that's still a thing) Plugged it in,turned the dial to 4, as recommended, tossed some food in it and left town for a few days. Returned home to warm, ruined food. And since you must return an appliance within 2 days, I couldn't return it! So, I'm out $230
My fridge came in completely destroyed with multiple dings. I was told when I called Walmart customer service number that they would be sending an email to have FedEx come pick it up from my house. Well 3 days went past and I heard nothing from Walmart. So I called back and a new representative told me that the rep I spoke to prior never put in for a return on the item and so I would have to go to my nearest Walmart to return the product. I advised that I wanted to talk to a manager because the original rep did not do their job. I really hope Walmart gets it together because this is unacceptable for a Fortune 500 company to not have adequate resources or trained staff. When I ultimately returned the fridge at Walmart the customer service manager told me that the fridge I returned was at least the 50th return on the same product and not even kidding she had 2 of the exact same fridge's behind her at the customer service center. I said wow I will never buy a fridge again from Walmart. The employees (2other workers) stated honestly corporate should stop the delivery service or stop selling them because Walmart can't be making any revenue off of this product. I literally gasped I wasn't expecting so much honesty from the employee and when I explained the situation with Walmarts 1-800 customer service team I was told I was the 6 person this week whose items were not returned because of a promised email to arrive by Walmart. They apologized to me then advised Lowes had a fridge for better quality and shipping. And I appreciate that because Lowes is who I would recommend for a fridge I paid $20 less than I did at Walmart. Lowe's handle my fridge with care from the isle to my home. IF YOUR IN THE MARKET FOR A FRIDGE GO TO LOWES I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND WALMART APPLIANCES EVER!!!!! BUYERS BEWARE!! For anyone returning anything to Walmart through calling the 1-800 number make sure you stay on the phone until an email comes through. Let the agent know you will wait on the email and want to stay on the phone until all the documents have been emailed over for the return. Hope this information helps the next person.
I attempted to purchase this fridge multiple times as I had just moved, and properly updated my new address with Walmart. However, Walmart promptly took the money from my bank account and then canceled the order claiming "fraud". By the time they decided to ALLOW ME to order this fridge and took my money again forcing me to pay over $500 for the $200 fridge, and then wait for the duplicate cost to be credited back, it took two more weeks for it to arrive. The delivery driver left it in the yard in and didn't even bring it to the house or help bring it inside as they were supposed to. I followed all the instructions to let the fridge sit for 24 hours. Then I plugged it in and waited another 24 hours for it to settle an "come up to temp". However, after only one hour of being plugged in, I opened the fridge to find it RAINING INCESSANTLY INSIDE! This is unacceptable! I immediately called Walmart to request a replacement in the appropriate "return window" and they REFUSED and broke the law in refusing to honor replacing a defective device and it is all captured on my many recorded calls with them begging for assistance. Then I had no choice but to file a warranty claim with Curtis International to shockingly be told that I should "troubleshoot it myself". Then after I pushed back and asked them to please follow the law and provide assistance in fixing or replacing the defective fridge, they stated IN WRITING that the fridge "RAINING INCESSANTLY" is normal and that it is part of the DEFROSTING it does with ICE. So let me get this straight, there is SUPPOSED TO BE ICE IN THE FRIDGE? I don't think so! Not to mention the fridge started raining water in less than an hour of being plugged in and it was SUPPOSEDLY brand new! Thus, it never could have possibly had time to "BUILD ICE" or "DEFROST THE FRIDGE" in such a short time as this IS NOT NORMAL FOR ANY FRIDGE IN THE WORLD AND IS CLEARLY VERY DEFECTIVE. I am also worried that having such a defective appliance is a danger to the home and it has been over a month now and still NO ONE AT CURTIS INTERNATIONAL HAS HONORED MY WARRANTY OR MADE ANY EFFORTS TO TROUBLESHOOT AND DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE, FIX, OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE APPLIANCE THAT THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BY LAW. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO WEEKS SINCE I HEARD BACK FROM THEM AS THEY CLEARLY HAVE NO INTENTION OF FOLLOWING THE LAW AND HONORING MY WARRANTY. If a seller claims they are selling a brand new fridge to you and then takes your money for the fridge, they are obligated BY LAW to PROVIDE a BRAND-NEW FRIDGE. If they don't, the are REQUIRED BY LAW to honor the warranty and fix or replace the fridge. CURTIS INTERNATIONAL IS NOT FOLLOWING THE LAW OR HONORING MY WARRANTY. THEY HAVE STOPPED ALL COMMUNICATIONS WITH ME. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO ESCALATE THIS TO AN ATTORNEY AND TO THE FTC TO REPORT "BREACH OF WARRANTY" from the seller. I DO NOT recommend this fridge. It has thousands of negative reviews all related to the same things I have experienced. Beware!
I like the size and the front color which is stainless steel but the side color is black which does not look that great. It's ok if you put the fridge in between cabinets so you don't see the sides. I thought it was ok at first but soon after installing (plugging it in and turning the dial to 5 for 24 hours), I found little ice chips forming on the back wall of the fridge portion within a week or so. My bf then lowered the fridge to about 3.5 to reduce the ice chips. But our meat particularly chicken kept getting rotten even though it was unopened and in the fridge the whole time. This is a 2nd fridge in my office inside the house. It's not in the garage. So it does not have the temp fluctuation of the garage. I have a digital standalone thermometer/hygrometer, so I tried putting it in the fridge and it was showing 45-49 degrees even though I raised the dial all the way to 5 and waited 2 full days before I checked the temperature on the digital thermometer. I did not open the fridge at all during these 2 days. According to ChatGPT, the temp is too high. It should be 35-40 to keep food fresh especially chickens. Since I'm now keeping it at 5, the little ice chips are forming on the back wall of the fridge again. I'm glad I bought the 3-year extended warranty. Now I just have to figure out who to call to fix this or replace it for me. I think it's defective from the beginning. I just did not realize it. I already have multiple chickens spoiling even before the SELL BY date. I usually store it in the fridge a few days after I bought it and then when I opened it, the smell was just too rotten.
I never received the item and when contacting Walmart they have told me to go to the manufacturer. I told them I have the FedEx shipping number that shows it was sent back because of damage in shipping to an address in Ohio. that address is a Walmart shipping facility. they have refused to give my money back and they've even argued with my credit card that they do not owe me the money back. this is very sad is that I am a very faithful Walmart customer Walmart Plus and spend probably $10,000 a year at Walmart. I would have never expected this out of them I will probably have to pursue this in small claims court. there was also another one at my house that came it looks like it has bullet holes in it I also have a phone recording of the pickup but they never picked it up after two request. now they say it's mine. they must be really broke right now be careful ordering things from Walmart.
