This is used to cool a family room which is 10' x 14' with adjoining kitchen of about the same size. Even in the extreme humid hot July days of this extended quarrantine we are cool. Easy to install. I haven't fiddled with the timer yet, but that all looks pretty straight forward. Summary....it's doing exactly what I asked and the price was excellent. Bonus...they delivered it in two days. Bonus bonus...there was a small piece of Styrofoam from the packing which somehow worked its way into the unit???? When we turned the ac unit on it made this horrible noise for a second before it's spit said styrofoam piece out onto the carpet. No further horrible noises or styrofoam pieces noted.
Powerful little unit. My house was at 91 degrees! I had this installed into my bedroom wall rather than into the window. It's very unobtrusive, and fairly quiet. It fit perfectly between the studs in my wall. If I turn up the fan and leave the door open, it cools off another room as well. I feel good about this decision
I am really enjoying this a/c. I have had it now for one month. It is not nearly as loud as the reviews suggested and it cools amazingly well. Would recommend.
Fridgaire is a very good brand. I'm so glad I caught this sale wish I would've bought 2 it cooled the room immediately and it's not as noise as I thought it would be from reading the other reviews excellent air conditioning get it
Everything went well with the order for my Frigidaire 8000 BTU 115-volt air conditioner FFRA082WAE. It arrived a week earlier than expected, and it is working well in my apartment. It is cooling an area of 350 sq. feet. I feel it is strong enough to eventually cool my bedroom too.
I searched high and low for a air conditioner and I wanted some that was brand name. The air conditioner itself is great so far. I did however notice when I took it out of the box and it was damaged during shipping I'm sure. I contacted Walmart and they game me 10% off so I could keep my air conditioner very satisfied with that decision. They are hard to find in the Pacific Northwest right now. However the shipping company OnTrac is the worst shipping company out there!! They weren't here when they said they would be, just left my package on my door half our together and air conditioner on it's side. Seems like complaining another this shipping company doesn't anything either.
It was okay for some time. Loud fan on high. Tolerable at night on low. What bothers me more so is my air quality. It seems mold might have built up in the machine and it doesn't smell pleasant. I've clean the vents and the filter. Submitting this review hoping someone will respond and help. Might be a good idea to buy an air quality detector to see the difference.
It sounds like the fan is grinding. I checked and made sure nothing is in the unit...it is super clean too. I bought this 7/2020. After a couple months of use and sitting in a closet...it is now super loud. I tried to call Frigidaire tech support, but the message says "due to unusually large call volume" they can't take the call. Their online chat support isn't live. The link for chat support is not active. I spent a little more on this AC hoping to not deal with these issues.
I've used Frigidaire A/Cs for years. I've owned 10,000 BTUs and little 5000 BTUs and have always found them to be solid, well performing machines. I got this to replace a six yr old Frigidaire 5,000 BTU that is a real good little A/C, still works fine, but struggles to cool the 210 sq ft area I was using it in when the outside temp is in the 90s with high humidity. This 8000 BTU is louder and doesn't cool as well as the older, smaller one. The compressor shuts off several degrees before the room reaches the set temp, not once since install has it cooled the room to 70 even when the outside temp is only 80 with low humidity. Having the fan on low or medium barely pushes any air, high is the only way go get the cold air moving through the room, but high sounds like a jet engine. Plus the tiny pinpoint green lights are impossible to see unless the room is dark or in front of it at eye level. The remote doesn't light up as the manual says it should, so you have to guess what you're doing with it unless you can see the temp and tiny lights on the front of the A/C. Poor quality machine, poor quality performance. I'm so disappointed I wasted money on this. What happened, Frigidaire, you used to make such good product, now all the bells and whistles have taken away the quality for gimmicks. Bring back the old design with the knobs and powerful yet quiet operation that got the job done.
I bought the air conditioner by mistake %26 it's been a NIGHTMARE! I couldn't be more disgusted with trying to return this air conditioner. I started trying to cancel as soon as I hit the button to get it. No luck. I tried to call the air Walmart and no luck finally I was sent an address to send it back at my expense. This has been one of the WORST experiences I've ever had. I'm still with the air conditioner and I'd like to get it sent back free.
