This is a great unit, it works very well in an open floor plan kitchen/eat in living room that I have in my apartment. The remote control sensing feature is really great since it allows for auto-shut off of the unit once the temperature is set in the room. I bought this one when my old one got mold in it. I love it! It cools down the room super fast and is quiet. I like how it has the sleep mode and auto as well so it shuts off when the temperature is whatever we set it at and then turns on again when it needs too. I bought the Frigidaire 10000-btu around a month ago the unit was doing fine for the first week and then wouldn't turn off was ready to return it for a new one when I realized the batteries were dead in the remote control and it was feeding it bad infor keeping it running gave me a lot of Heartache since the battery has been changed out it's working fine and I may very well still recommend it to a friend [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is my first AC unit and it works well and as expected. The screen that displays numbers is only covered by plastic and has already torn. I bought this about a month ago after the unit that came with my home died. I love the features, and that I can direct the air flow. It is loud and installed in the wall next to my TV, so that is unfortunate. But all in all, it's a great unit and temps/fan choices are great with a sleep mode and timer. Paid to get this put in my wall, went to turn it on, compressor kick on for 2 seconds and then it stopped. Went through all of the trouble shooting guides and still it did not worked. Spent 45 minutes on hold waiting for customer service. When I finally got someone she dropped me. Called again, another 30 minute wait. Hopefully getting a new unit. This is not worth the trouble.
