Unit works well for the money. It is a little noisy when running on High. Overall, a good buy.

I installed this unit in a 20x20 room. It was 98° in the room when I turned it on and set it on 70°. It cooled and cycled at 70° in less than 30 minutes. All features work perfectly and the remote is great too. 3 weeks running and no problems. The filter light came on this morning and the filter was slightly dirty so I cleaned it. I purchased this unit especially for the programmable thermostat. We left our home for a month and left this on at a set temperature to mainly keep the humidity down. We were gone all July. I came back and this unit coupled with a dehumidifier in the basement kept the the house fresh and dry. I reside in Minnesota which has very humid summers. It cools very well too. It has a lot more cooling power than the 5000 BTU unit it replaced and it is not much larger or heavier. It drips very little outside off the rear bottom. No moisture from it comes in the house or to the window sill. I would buy this again.

I bought this a few days ago but wanted to share that I installed it easily by myself. I am not very handy but I can operate a power drill. The hardware store helped me cut the plywood I needed to install since I have horizontal sliding windows. Installed it in less than 20 minutes and that was only because I read the instruction first.

Works well at the express purpose (cooling rooms), but the beeping of the controls is much louder than I'd like and the mechanisms can rattle a bit and I had to tape down the the filter to keep it from rattling. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Purchased this product to use in a spare/office room that is 180 square feet (maximum). The first time, I set it up, plugged it in, turned it to cool mode at 63degrees and waited about 15 minutes for it to cool the room. 3 feet directly in front of the AC blew cool air, the rest of the room stayed warm - I say warm because it was 78 degrees. I tried it multiple times since then at different temperatures, to no avail; it's a 3 feet and done air conditioner when at 8,000BTU, it's supposed to work on a 350 square foot room. I am highly disappointed and it is too late to return the product. The AC did not in any way measure up to its specifications or stated purpose. I heard rave reviews about Frigidaire hence the purchase, but this product has been found wanting. Hoping Frigidaire can rectify this in some form.
