I like the door mounted temperature indicator and control as I know it is working. I changed the door swing. That was more difficult than I expected. While still laying on its back, the door stop made a snapping noise on opening. Tried to fix that and eventually thought it might not do that when standing back upright. That was it. A note about this would have helped and saved me about an hour of unnecessary troubleshooting.
Works well and matches the on we bought a couple of years ago. lots of space and the cold circulating air keeps everything cold.
Purchased the freezer for use in the garage. The unit has been functioning as researched and anticipated. Very happy with the unit so far.
It has a adequate storage space and convenient to remove food as required. For safety concerns I like the soft self closing door.
We've been using this freezer for just over a month now and it has proven to be more than adequate for our needs. While it has a large footprint, the interior offers incredible storage space which makes my wife very happy! Tons of room for lots of food! Almost all our appliances are Frigidaire now. Well done!
I replaced a 17' with this 20'. After 14 years my old frigidaire died. The door came open during the heat wave and just never recovered. I am happy this one has an alarm. This unit is so much quieter, love the carbon colour, tired of white appliances. The wheels make it easy to set up. The bottom bin seems wrong, it does not look like the correct bin for the freezer. It is much smaller than the pictures in the brochure.
Our older freezer had developed a real attitude along with bi-polar tendencies. Was running hot and cold. This beauty arrived in a few days. Stood strong and with freezer boost running we only lost a package of puff pastry. With the temperature panel on the door with the alarms for door ajar and temperature warning, we are feeling calm and collected. So far, it freezes. Will come back in six months to revise. Very bright inside, lots of room.
This is a great capacity freezer and looks great. There is a design flaw in the little magnet that sits in the door that helps regulate the internal temperature. It can fall out which causes the alarm to sound. If you lose this small magnet, which is barely held in place, your freezer warms up. The manual mentions nothing about it. We only learned about this issue from YouTube. Thankfully, we found this small magnet and were able to affix it into place. This magnet is now something we are mindful of when opening and closing the freezer door.
From the outset this freezer has noticeably strange sounds. These are "normal" - not at all typical, just expected for this model. After one year it stopped freezing and I learned during the repair that it was incredibly common for that part to go but this model was still being shipped with the known faulty part. Now just 6 months after that repair with two paranoid defrosting rounds in between it has developed many incredibly loud noise patterns. I am losing my mind. I'm sure this will break again, probably after just after the warranty runs out - good riddance and never again.
We recently bought the Frigidaire garage ready upright freezer to replace a 40 year old chest freezer that was still working, but due for a rest. The new 20cubic foot upright model is working well, even in temperatures over 30C in the garage. The shelves are great, sturdy and easy to customize. I really like the easy access of an upright model. So far, so good in month #1. I am happy with the Frigidaire and hope it lasts as long as my old kenmore
