Echoing similar reviews, the filter does not last, the fridge glitches with a “replace filter alert” after two weeks of minor usage. It's a money grab designed to get you to keep buying these expensive filters in order to keep using the fridge water dispenser.

The fact that these have a chip in them to prevent you from using any sort of bypass device is criminal. I have a whole house water filter and just want to bypass, I'm telling all my friends and family to avoid these types of fridges at all costs.

This water reads the same PPM as my tap. Virtually useless with a new fridge.

Doesn't remove PFAS Toxic Teflon Chemical in drinking water

Does not last more than a few weeks! Manufacturer recommendation is to replace every 6 months. I am now on my 3rd filter in as many months. After 4-5 weeks, the water flow decreases significantly. Almost to a trickle. No replacement warning from the "electronics" of this filter. Clearly a defective filter design. But there are no alternatives from other manufacturers. At least not yet. I'll keep returning it for a replacement until I get shut down. Perhaps Frigidaire will figure out they have a manufacturing or design problem.
