Pretty overpowered for my small room, but that's what I wanted! The small footprint and the hose coming off at an angle were key for my small room fit, and I was not disappointed. The included horizontal window hose adapter made the hose stick out in almost the middle of the window, but I was able to 3D print a vertical adapter that can go on the very end of the window (screwed to a piece of plywood) so that's no longer an issue. If anybody has the same issue I would be happy to email them the .STL file. Thanks!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Air filter only works thru WiFi. I can't access the air filter because I have the wrong kind of WiFi. I needed the air filter when we had very unhealthy air for over a week due to the wildfires here in NoCal. so give me the option to push a button on the unit.
The unit is beautiful and puts out nice, cold air. Unfortunately I have never been able to make the app work so I can't control it remotely - even with customer service assistance - but I hadn't planned on using that feature anyway. Other than that, I do recommend it.
So I've had this for a month now... I love the design and the features. I purchased two of these, one for my dining room and one for the living room. They have both worked out wonderfully as replacements of my hideous window units. I give three stars because of the excessive condensation. The unit didn't come with a hose, and the drip spout is nearly flush with the unit so you can't simply place a bucket under the spout. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Went to hook up the AC for this year (second time with this AC) went to attach the tube to the window mount and it seems like the attachment is to small? Like it shrunk throughout the winter. It will not stay attached...tried to call but no answer..tried to look up the parts but apparently no parts for this model on the website. I'm at a loss of what to do.
Product does not effectively evaporate condensate as advertised. Unless you're ready to buy a condensate pump or lift this 80lb monstrosity into your tub every day, don't buy this AC. I made my purchase 3 years ago to cool my 400 sq ft studio apartment and for the first summer, it worked great. The second summer, it returned the P1 error more and more frequently (this is when the condensate tank is full and requires draining). I only ever used the “Cool”, “Fan” and “Eco” modes, which are not supposed to require regular draining. Now, three summers in, it generates 2+ quarts of water per hour on the “Cool” mode and returns the P1 error every day. When I contacted customer support, they told me that the product was not broken, no repair was necessary and to simply attach a drainage hose or condensate pump. At this point, I'm more than ready to kick it to the curb.
This unit works well for cooling a single room but the app is terrible for controlling it from your phone. Even after scheduled events have been deleted the unit mysteriously turns on without prompting. Programming features leave much to be desired. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The wifi is not working despite million attempts done. Called for support from Fridgidaire but still did not work, they were not so helpful too. Contacted the seller and I have not heard from them about this.. the unit is working fine except connecting to WiFi. WiFi is important because some of the functions are through the Appt like scheduler and remotely controlling it. This is the reason that the unit is expensive because of this perk and now I am stuck because i can't connect it to the app. It says trouble connecting to the network in-spite the modem is literally beside the unit. How would you explain that? Hope they can do something about this. I paid a lot for this and now I am stuck with this junk. It's better I brought a cheaper one and saves me a lot of trouble. An aircon like this capacity with the WiFi capacity is way cheaper. If they can't change the unit or do something about it, hope they refund me the price difference of having a unit with no WiFi capacity.
For the past 3 summers, I've used a rickety old window unit that I scrounged up somewhere to cool down my modest-sized studio apartment. As a result of apartment building management pushing tenants towards internal AC units, liking the idea of a window unit not obstructing my view, and a desire to try something a bit more "modern", I figured I'd give this futuristic, cylinder shaped Frigidaire a shot. Huuuge mistake. Just the base unit itself is more imposing than I ever imagined but add on the ugly, dumb window hose and the thing doesn't nestle-in nicely anywhere. Even if you do find a spot to put this thing...surprise...you really didn't because the manual states that this pale beast should have 12 inches of clearance all the way around and a recommended 50 inches of clearance in the back. 50 inches!!? That's over 4 feet. That would leave this thing pretty much smack dab in the middle of any room it's "supposedly" capable of cooling down. In addition to an imposing presence, it's lack of cooling power is unrivaled. It's slick, hidden digital display does a nice job of distracting you from the desired temp you're gleefully punching in that will never, ever be reached. With fluctuating external temperatures, this thing still never managed to cool beyond a balmy 82 degrees for the 3 weeks it terrorized my place. To top it all off, the monstrosity sucks sooo much power it blew 2 separate sets of breakers on more than 4 occasions. If you do move ahead in purchasing this cylindrical nightmare, be sure to unplug your microwave, computer, TV, hair dryer, clock, coffee maker and cell phone charger before getting this thing going cause it will wreak havoc. Buy yourself a decently made fan instead of this overpriced tube of garbage and spend the money saved on trip to cooler climates. I'm sending this overpriced, cone-shaped, failed experiment back to the store and hauling the old, more than adequate, seasoned window unit back out to do what it does best.
I actually got this because it's portable and 12K BTUs. However, I use it for my bedroom and it does not cool my bedroom pass 75 degrees on Cool 60-High. I've tried connecting a hose to drain the water out to see if that will help -but it does not. How can I get my AC to work properly?
