Great flavor and a reasonable price. Good container keeps it fresh. Great on salads. I use it on my favorite beet salad. Open a can of sliced beets. Pour off some of the juice and put in a small glass covered dish. Add a tablespoon or more of cider vinegar (to taste). Let set several hours. When ready to serve dice some Vidalia or Texas sweet onion and put it all in a bowl, add black pepper. When ready to serve dish up the beets/onions and add a small handful of Feta on each serving. This keeps well for a couple weeks in the refrigerator, but add the Feta only when ready to serve. Also great on Greek lettuce salad and wraps.
I know they say you shouldn't buy the pre-crumbled kind, but it works for me. I'm more likely to use it due to the ease of adding it just on a whim rather than crumble, rewrap, put away, wash my hands, etc. Of course it's not a big difference, but sometimes that's enough. It tastes good; I've used it in both hot and cold applications successfully.
well if you're a cheese lover as I am feta cheese really works on a lot of different items especially Italian or Greek but I have found it to be very good in other applications if you like tomato soup put crumbles or chunks of feta cheese in your tomato soup after you took it very good also it is very good on salads as well
This feta is perfect for what we use it for. Good flavor, not too much moisture, not dry. That great taste. It's perfect on our pizzas and in our homemade salads. It's not all big chunks either. We like some small crumbly, chunks, but like a little bit of really small pieces , too. The price is great. Period.
I don't really like feta cheese but I had a mediterranean recipe that called for feta cheese. So I bought this because it's the lowest priced feta cheese that they had. Not a fan of this kind of cheese, but it worked well in the recipe so that that's why I recommend it.
The perfect addition to recipe. The saltiness and strong taste give an air of Greece for any dish. Feta and spinach are the base for many Mediterranean recipe. I always combine it with a parmesan and mozzarella and the great feta taste adds the zing that these cheeses need. It is a centerpiece for many of my recipes.
Frigo has really good Feta cheese. The texture is not mushy or sticky. It's crumbled in different sizes but not large balls. Makes it easy to sprinkle on salads, pastas, pitas and any other dish you may want to use on. One of my wins for this is it stays fresh and lasts long refrigerated
Excellent, tasty bargain if you just need a small amount. I buy the WHOLE POTABELLA MUSHROOMS,FROZEN SPINACH and this FETA CHEESE. For a simple meal, wash the mushrooms and turn upside down. Add a generous handful of spinach on top of each mushroom, then 2-3 tablespoons of FRIGO feta cheese. Add a teaspoon or two of butter on top. Sprinkle with garlic and onion powder. Put on microwave safe plate and cover. 800 watt microwave for 10 minutes. ENJOY!!!
There is no sweetness in this cheese. I have never tried to melt it. I don't know if you can put it in Burritos. I don't eat them. It is good in salads though. It is a great price too.
Frigo Feta Cheese is my favorite for making Greek Salads at home. I usually have to crumble it before putting it on my salad, but don't mind doing that because I like it in smaller crumbles.
