This is my 2nd purchase after 10+ years. This light weight suit has worked flawlessly when needed, of which my wife most often benefitted from. It finally was showing signs of deterioration so I got a replacement set for my truck along with an extra set for my wife. She loves them.
Very lightweight for the size. I bought an XXL, and it weighs just over 12 ounces. So under a pound for a complete rain suit. It packs down fairly small, and the elastic on the wrists helps prevent water from getting up your sleaves. All in all, a good cheap lightweight rain suit for backpacking or camping.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Water proof pants and hoodie for our power washing business are great!
Good for ultralight backpacking, not noisy, drawstring on hood a nice feature
Expecting warmth and sunshine, I didn't pack rain gear for a Charlotte visit. When the Panthers game-time forecast switched from warm sunshine to cold, wet and windy, I was in a panic. My host had a $100 waterproof rain suit. Remembering a recommendation for a great value rain suit at Walmart, I picked one up for $19.97!!! The water just beaded off during a downpour. The M/L size was ample to accommodate my many layers, keeping out the wind and me toasty warm and dry. The pants were a bit large, but rolling the waist was an easy fix and the ample leg diameter slipped on without removing my boots. The tan color was declared very stylish by our wives. Thinking I would want to be able to use these in the upstate NY woods during hunting season, I ordered a yellow set in a size medium. Both the size and the color will better suite safety and comfort demands when more active with fewer layers. I'll be dry and more noticeable to traffic when walking my dog in the road. Light, packable, what more could you ask? Don't know about durability, but, at this price??? I've ordered more for the rest of the family.
This is the PERFECT rain gear for the heat and torrential downpours in the dirty, dirty South whether you're fishing, hunting, at the big game or riding!!!
I have used Frogg Toggs for years for backpacking. They are light and water repellant and somewhat breathable. They do tear easily so require careful handling; you will probably have to buy a new one for each hiking year, but they are affordable. They work better than much costlier raincoats I had from Patagonia and Helly Hansen.
The sizing guidelines are totally messed up. Seriously, whatever size is recommended on the sizing chart, choose one size smaller. The result will still be large enough to go over all but the most bulky of winter coats. No matter what, the legs are long enough that it will be bunched around your ankles, this is a real design flaw in my opinion.
They need a chart to make sure people get the right size. I wear an XL but the XL in the rain suit is way too big with no draw string. There was no return label to change the size.
These ripped the first time my son used them. Terrible quality. Don't buy these.
