he KYB design here is a little different from the OEM used on the Toyota Camry. This KYB product consists of a bump stop (foam piece that sits around the piston, preventing full bottoming out) and the bellow/boot (the accordion-like hose protecting the piston rod/shaft from debris and dust). Whereas the OEM bellow is one piece with the top rubber spring insulator, the KYB bellow is to be attached (you have to put the two pieces together) to the bumpstop (see picture). The KYB bellow is made of a more rigid plastic, compared to the rubber OEM bellow. Looks like this part will work just fine.
I ordered these when I ordered the struts for my 2007 Altima. I was glad in that the old ones were completely shot, the bump stops were falling apart. When installing, look for the metal cup in the top of the old boot before tossing them away - you will need them to install the boots. There are no instructions but it is pretty straight forward. I was very happy with the results.
These say "rear" strut bellow, but they are listed for the front struts on my '05 corolla. They are a good fit for the front on my car and if you do your struts you need these. The old strut belows on the car are one piece with the upper spring insulator and so they where made of soft rubber and they fall apart letting dirt get into the strut. This part comes with the bellow and bump stop and you're supposed to insert a lip on the bump stop into a grove in the bellow which proved quite difficult but i did manage to do it and then the product works great. (If you attempt to put the bump stop into the bellow as the directions say, start at one side and force the lip in and try to work around until you have about half of it in, then push them together and turn or twist to make the rest go in).
Great product and much more durable than the OEM rubber version. The KYB bellows kit is a firmer plastic version which will last a lot longer than the OEM rubber. You will need to purchase the KYB Upper mount in order for these to work. it will not work with the OEM mount. Highly recommend!
Like that it's made in USA and the construction seems durable. However the style is markedly different from the OEM style as this one is much shorter and assembles differently.
The ones I pulled off were original and appeared to be better quality. It probably didn't need to be replaced. The original boot also has the rubber spring seat integrated with the boot.
Good performing product at a great price! Not labeled with Parts Geek part number so I had to go onto the KYB website to figure out if this was a front or rear unit for my car.
Product was as described, shipped quickly and came complete. Couldn't have been easier. Everthing went right together.
The company is wonderful with having parts in stock and quick turn around time. The parts are just what they are said to be.
I needed to return these as they were not needed for my strut replacement. The originals worked fine.
