Frontier Co-op Nutritional Yeast, Mini Flakes, 16 oz Bag

Generally, I use it sparingly place into shaker with large holes (1/4-in dia.) the type used for red pepper flakes sprinkle onto foods; spaghetti, pastas, pizza, chili beans, stir fry, rice. Adds pizzazz, umami and cheesy-like flavoring replaces parmesan cheese, which is healthier and "vegan." Shaker makings easy empty jar and drill.

This is high in protein (9g/serving) and has only one ingredient: inactive yeast. I am not one who thinks nutritional yeast tastes like cheese, but this still makes me happy when mixed with a vegan white sauce over pasta. The flavor is mild and, in my opinion, better than other brands of nutritional yeast that I have tried. I also like to sprinkle it over popcorn. It does not contain B12, which isn't a problem for me since I take a B-complex for medical reasons, but I know others may be looking for that when buying nutritional yeast.

Wow, this stuff is amazing!! it tastes much better than the Bragg brand. My husband and I are popcorn lovers. We tried this tonight on our popcorn and ended up making a second batch. ☺️ The taste is very light and cheesy. It is such a great buy. It's an amazing value as well. The 16 oz bag filled an entire 2 quart canning jar.

We sprinkle this vegan product on popcorn %26 pasta. Taste like a mild cheese. Highly recommended frontier brand.

it tastes great and is a good value! however I'm new to nutritional yeast and didn't realize it had a strong laxative effect, start slow!

I like this nooch better than the last I bought and for the price it was the best deal I could find. I use it all the time on my popcorn and this brand (flaked) doesn't fall through to the bottom, it actually sticks.

It's pretty standard nutritional yeast—I slap this on basically everything as an extra seasoning and use it in marinades. It goes incredibly well with tofu (w/ soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper). Not disappointed! Apparently have to disclose I am walmart associate.

I have never tried NY before. I purchased it for health benefits and this seemed to be a good value. I received it quickly. The bag that it came in was fine but I transferred into another container that allows me to use easier and sprinkle on. It is a pain to have to get into bags each time you use something and then have to seal up. I tried a spoonful at first and didn't think I would like it as much as others that love it. I kept it on the table and first put it on a baked potato with broccoli and cheese and butter and it was really good. I think it just added a little cheesier flavor. I then put it on a turkey sandwich on the mayo and really liked it. It is hard to describe the flavor as it is fairly neutral but kind of cheesy. I think it will go on salads and soups and pasta very easily. Keep it handy and you will use it more.

This came well packed in good condition... Except it came with a strong odor/influence of cumin. This was strong enough to permeate the mylar type lining and flavour the yeast flakes all the way through. Definitely impacts the versatility and value of buying it in this bulk size. Maybe not so awful if you are cooking Mexican. However I'm cooking East %26 SouthEast Asian where it interferes with the intended flavours. Especially the Japanese simple dishes. So no I don't recommend it unless you are only cooking cumin flavoured food with it. Not for pasta, baking, broccoli, baked potatoes, veggie dip, etc.
