Frontier Co-op Organic Turmeric Root Powder, 16 oz

Turmeric powder was recommended by my son for body aches and pains in my joints. Just started taking it 2 days ago and I am well pleased that I can already see a difference! I have been taking capsules for awhile prior to taking this powder. A teaspoon stirred into warm water and drink it. Not too unpleasant I follow it with juice or my morning coffee.

Tumeric with curcumin. I use this as tea in the morning with hot water and grade b maple syrup. Does a body good.

We all know how terrific Turmeric is for countless things relating to our health and wellness. One would have to be living isolated in a cave someplace far removed from society / radio & TV / the internet, et al, to not have heard / learned about Turmeric's value and versatility. I use Turmeric daily, so I find that buying it by the pound is the only way to go for me. More economical and convenient, and this Frontier Organic Turmeric is very good quality. I find the taste, freshness, and color all right on. I mix this Turmeric Powder into my own recipe Curry Powder (with many other ingredients) which is a true Gourmet Marvel. Of course, there is no such thing as Curry Powder, in that there is no one set recipe for Curry Powder. It varies as to the geographic region and gastronomic preferences of the chef / kitchen scientist creating his or her ideal blend. However, with all the world's variations, one aspect that holds true is that Turmeric is a principal ingredient. I don't use my full-on Curry Powder every day, but what I do use every day is my TPF, as I call it. This mixture goe on virtually everything. I have cultivated such a taste for it that I miss it if I don't use it. Just like some people add salt and pepper to everything at the table before eating, I add my TPF. I also use Himalayan Crystal Salt on everything. I don't need to add separate pepper, because my TPF consists of a ratio of 2 parts Turmeric to 1 part each Malabar Black Pepper and Fenugreek Powder. If you are wanting to make Turmeric part of your daily regimen, you might want to play around with a recipe like my TPF. Just for variety, you can toss in a small amount of Cumin and Ginger to taste if you like. Both delicious and nutritious, but not going all the way to a full-on Curry Powder. Have fun with it. It's a good thing. Works for me. OR, if you like to keep it simple, just try adding a tsp of this fine Organic Turmeric Powder to your morning health cocktail or smoothie that you whip up in your blender. One of my daughters does this, and she says it is great that way. . . . kinda lends a jazzy bit of zip to her drink. Well, zippity-doo-dah.

The package does not have a Ziploc to keep the contents fresh after opening. Since my previous supply is not exhausted I have not opened it and cannot write about the product yet. Therefore my 3 star rating is for the packaging that DESERVES a ZIPLOC and I will comment and re-evaluate the product later.
