I make an evening tea drink before bed using this. Quality is excellent. I was very surprised that my cats went nuts over it!! They tore the bag open to get to it!
so so amazing.. Happy with it. it comes in a huge pack and worth the price, not the best taste or smell but it's really fine and it works which is most important
Only had it for couple of days but the sleeps I'm getting already. Best sleeps, relaxation mood and never moody
I ordered Frontier Natural Products,Cut & Sifted Valerian Root, 16 oz (453 g) for a better sleep and to help me with anxiety and potential panic attacks. I am using a coffee grinder to make it powder and I take 1/8 tsp 3 times a day with water. In the evening I take 1/4 tsp together with 5 mg melatonin for sleeping. I can sleep 8 hours with no interruption and wake up fresh in the morning. No panic attacks so far and I feel less anxious than usually.
Although it is not tasty at all, I add a piece of this Valerian Root to my routine daily to help reduce nerve pain and keep me calm. I had taken tincture of Valerian Root before years ago but wanted to try a different form and this is working so far with doing a pinch daily. This bag will last a year I would think unless I can figure out how to get past the taste and add more to my daily routine.
it can help with insomnia, anxiety, and nervous restlessness, One is that valerian increases the amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. As a neurotransmitter, GABA inhibits unwanted nervous system activity. Studies have shown that increased levels of GABA in the brain lead to falling asleep faster and experiencing better sleep.
I highly recommend buying this bulk bag than purchasing from brick and mortar shop. The reason I say this, is because the smell of the Valerian was so earthy and fresh in comparison to when I purchased it in a store a few months ago. It has a beautiful, rich brown color and pairs well with other herbs that I use for a sleep tea blend. No caffeine. I've found small amount can be used during the day to help manage anxiety with other herbs such as skullcap, gotu kola, and ashwagandha. Also pairs really with passion flower and wild lettuce for a good nights sleep. This is from my personal experience. Always ask a medical professional before consuming or blending herbs.
The bag is really big as you don't need a lot of leaves to make a cup! Making tea from loose is so easy really, you don't even need a teaball, just a strainer. The taste is relatively mild, but I combine this with mint and chamomile for a great alternative to a certain brand of "sleepytime" tea. It's so much more economical to make your own and skip a wasteful teabag. I plan to make up little mason jars and give to friends and family for Christmas ;) Frontier has so many teas out there to try and the quality of the ones I've tried has been excellent! A word of caution, valerian shouldn't be used with certain medications so if you make it for yourself, or give it as a gift, state that there there may be contraindications and they need to do their research.
I took the pill form but it is a much better result with tea. My friend and family complained about the smell but I shared this tea with them and they all said they had much better sleep than any of the sleep aids they tried before. Because of the result, the smell is nothing to me now. This smell equals that I will have a good sleep later...
I really REALLY struggle with the taste but I was well aware of that when buying it. At least I know it's the real stuff when it tastes like foot:) It's THE best herb for sleep so I cannot not take it as a chronic insomniac. I'd take foot tea over not sleeping every day if I have to
