What can one say about Frontline. It's a great product and Walmart sells it for less. Check around and see for yourself. Walmart has the best prices on so many other products as well.
Bought this for my papillon at the beginning of summer. I was working great when I first applied it. Ticks would bite him but them they'd shrivel up and die. But then he kept rolling in sticky stuff and had to be bathed a few times and it seemed to be less effective. That was at around 3 weeks, so he was almost due for a new dose anyway.
I have a pekapoo and trying to find something that works for this type of dog is impossible. I have been to the vet and also bought advantage and nothing worked. Some one told me to try this and it worked. Since then I don't use nothing else. One thing I wasn't told but learned the hard way was if you give your dog (or cat) a bath it no longer works for the rest of the 3 months. What I recommend is before you use it I sugguest give your animal a bathe if they are in desperate need of one and once they are totally dry then apply.
I live in an area where there is almost a dog or cat in every house within a five mile radius. Fleas, mites and ticks are a year round problem. When I treated my pets with Frontlne, within minutes I saw a difference in their scratching. It wasn't a full 24 hours before I saw a major difference. I will keep using this product for all my animals for now on.
I have battled fleas this year like no other. My dogs were miserable. Tried other products with no results. Used this product and overnight the difference was unbelievable. Within two days there were no live fleas on my dogs and they were so much happier. Walmart price is great and I highly recommend this product.
I ordered one other item that I had planned to pick up at WalMart anyway, and shipping to my home was free, and it came within a few days. Saved about $14 - $15.
Pleased with $39.00 price
Remember those days of putting Frontline on your pet,and watching the relief in their faces after a day or so?Well those days are over.I bought a 3 month supply and ended up using it all within a month.I may have seen 2 days of relief, then right back to scratching uncontrollably. My dog is an inside dog, only let out to go to the restroom, twice a day.I know Frontline use to be the go to product, but it isn't any longer.
Today is day six, and the dogs I treated almost a week ago with Frontline Plus have fleas...too many fleas. I took one dog to the Pendleton vet clinic yesterday for advice. Apparently, Frontline's active ingredient has been used in our region to the point that fleas are not affected by the treatment any longer. And, because Frontline Plus is waterproof I must wait two more weeks before applying a different brand that doesn't use 'Fipronil' and '(S)-methoprene. I am using Oster Flea and Tick shampoo in the interim, and the fleas die off in less than five minutes. On my pups the Oster shampoo repels fleas for about 2 days and then they're back, but the shampoo is safe for cats and dogs, and lets these poor animals have a couple days without flea bites. Bottom line, if you have problems with Frontline Plus, consider calling your vet to find out what flea remedy is still effective in your area. Hope this helps.
I purchased this product about two weeks ago. I applied it to my dogs after they had a flea bath. Within two weeks the fleas were back. Yes, this product is less expensive but I wound up buying a more expensive brand within two weeks which put me at over $100 for flea prevention. I will never buy Frontline again.
