I have purchased this item twice, first in July for a 55" TV and (because I liked it so much) I purchased another in October for a 65" TV. Installation is fairly straight-forward. The LED strip has adhesive backing. You start at the (rear) top-middle of the TV and you then affix it in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction (the required app accommodates either direction). Some adhesive braces are included--these help support the LEDs, specifically around the corners where they do not adhere due to the 90° bends. My 55" TV had a lot of excess LEDs and I was forced to cut the strip--I'm including a photo illustrating where it is safe to cut. My 65" TV had ~ 7"s of excess but instead of cutting, I used the app's ability to deactivate that small section. Once the LEDs are affixed there are 2 cables to connect--one from the LEDs to the camera and 1 to power. The camera just sits at the top middle of the TV; it is unobtrusive and there is a small piece of adhesive to secure it, but it is unnecessary. After you hook it up, you merely fire up the uLamp app and (in my experience) it will automatically detect it. After pairing the app to the device, it allows you to deactivate excess lights and account for the direction (clockwise or anti) you installed the lights. The app provides a few modes. The first is the (default) cinema mode where the lights use the camera and your TV. There's an audio mode that syncs lights to music playing on your phone. It also allows you to customize the lights but I have stuck exclusively to using it in the default cinema mode. The lights turn on and off when the camera detects the TVs status. This works well, although there have been a couple of times where the LEDs didn't turn off after shutting down the TV (this is a very minor issue, happening only 2 times in 3 months). In cinema mode the lights are just fantastic and really add to the ambiance. The camera does an outstanding job of identifying the colors on specific areas of the TV and mirrors them very well--a fact you can judge by my included photos. For this device to really work, you need space (preferably painted white) behind your TV. If your TV is in a cabinet or enclosed the lighting FX will not be optimal. This specific item is sold on another large online retailer under a different "brand" and it has great reviews there, but Walmart is less expensive. I'm not at all incentivized to write a good review--I paid full retail for this item both times I bought it. I was skeptical before ordering it the first time but was so happy with it I was anxious to get another when I bought my 65". Great item, happy to recommend.
