Fuel Tank Cap - Compatible with 2010 Audi A3 Diesel

Got the dreaded "Check Gascap" message and then the "Check Emissions" message. The Internet said that the caps can fail after so many years. Mine made it 16 years. This replacement works great. Installation was a push trim clip. Pull out the center plug to release the clip, and cap retaining strap. Remove the old cap. Line up the new caps retaining strap with the hole and install the push trim clip to lock it in place. There is also the OEM ball to hang the cap while fueling. After a couple of trips the error messages went away. Thank You.

This part fits perfectly. It also fits in the holder that is on the inside of the metal cover/door of the fuel tank access (where you can slip the cap into that holder while you fill the tank). I'd bought another compatible cap that was slightly too big to fit in that holder, so I wanted to mention that this one does fit properly.

I received the "Check Gas Cap" message on my dash with a later OBD code P0497, Evaporative Emission System Low Purge Flow. This was on my 18 year old Honda Pilot. Always choosing the easiest fix first, I ordered a replacement gas cap from Parts Geek. It arrived quickly and was an easy swap that cleared the problem without further work on my part.
