It worked right out of the box I had no problems getting it set up. It was obviously a new unit. I played both DVDs CDs and VCR tapes without problems.
Works great. Easy to use.
I read all the reviews. I do not know what they expect from a low cost unit? I was worried I would not be able to find a VHS player so I bought this one. Had it over a year now and use it occasionally to check out movies before I sell them online. Has not let me down, was easy to hook up, and plays dvd's that have not been abused. I purchased a second one just in case but after having other one over a year I feel it will continue to serve my needs so I am returning unopened second one. If you have HD TV go buy a blue ray player! PS its not stereo either! OMG! For the price It is worth it for that spare bedroom room with no cable box.
My husband came home with the package and start at 9:30 AM by 1:30 PM it has been 4 hours of not get it to work.... The Funai DV220FX5 Dual-Deck DVD and VHS Player was not working. We decide to return it and get out money refund which the lady at customer service did with no problem I would not recommend this to any one ...... Know you brand names and buy something you know and trust.......
I took ours out of the box, and read the directions. it does not have what I need to be on it. It is just a cheap unit, no quality.
This item is cheaply made and the box was all ripped up upon delivery. Its a gift for christmas. What an embarrassment.
Could not get it to work with our set up. Would need to buy a separate tuner to use. What a waste of time. Why would you make a VHS/DVD player without a tuner. Really light and cheaply made. I originally was going to get a Sanyo as that's what they listed on line as available at my local store but they actually only had this Funai unit. Can't they tell the difference between the two and list it right? Will be taking this back and will try to find something that has a tuner and actually works.
I wanted to write this review because I didn't want anyone to make the same mistake I did. I bought this mostly to Play my VHS tapes that I made for the holidays. I purchased this about a year and a half ago I could not play my Halloween tape last year. But I just thought it was that one tape. I started putting my old VHS is in this year and it won't play them either. The voice is terrible and the picture is fuzzy or rolls. Tracking won't even fix it. I'm sorry I did not return it last year and now it is too late. So don't make the same mistake I did. The DVD works fine but if you want it to play your old VHS is. Don't. It is total junk.
Bought a week ago. Will only play new DVD's. Others skip and the screen goes dark. Also it is not HDMI compatible and the movie only fills 3/4 of the screen. Do not buy. Not worth it.
