I ordered the Fungyand Musubi set to make the Spam sushi that my husband likes. Then I found that this set can do much more. It includes a triangular mold for smaller pieces that I like. The Musubi press took a couple of tries to get the hang of it. I suggest dampening your hands and the inside of the mold, then the rice won't stick to it. Using leftover sushi rice works best, and I used the seasoned rice vinegar so I don't have to add sugar and salt. The stainless steel slicer is sharp and works great, and it is dishwasher safe. It slices Spam evenly. I like to slice, then quarter-turn the loaf and slice again for smaller pieces to add into Ramen. It also works perfectly on boiled eggs. We've gotten so much use out of this set already. It's affordable, versatile and fun!
My roommate had ordered some onigiri molds off temu awhile ago so I was able to compare the two. These are significantly higher quality and slightly larger than the temu molds, while having a more rounded shape and being easier to use. The musubi molds are sturdy and the press tops slide easily yet snug. The spam slicer has so many uses, though it can be awkward to clean, and there's a lil pamphlet showing you how to use everything. Overall, a good deal.
My wife has been wanting this spam slicer/sushi making kit for a while now. When we got it she immediately made herself some sushi and sliced spam with it. It appears to be well made, although most of it is plastic, and I see her getting years of use out of it.
while I learned to make onigiro as a teen, musubi is a whole other interest I never learned as it's a bit complicated to build... this makes it so much easier
The whole family loves making their own "Spam treats" with this little gadget. Everyone had their own version at lunch today.
