I love this yoga mat! The colors are beautiful and it's a nice material. I use it for yin yoga, and it's just cushy enough to make the poses comfortable.
I use this mat for Bikram. I have found that it's just thick enough as to not upset my balance yet thick enough to kneel comfortably. Love the material. Does not seem to absorb sweat as most mats do. And definitely more sanitary. Not holding odors. The material is called TPE.....forget what it stands for.
I've enjoyed using this mat for the last 1.5 years. It was a bit slippery at first, as others have mentioned, so I put a beach towel on it and washed it well after each use so it finally became more "grippy." The last few months, though, I've noticed "skid marks" where my body has pulled up the surface of the mat so I expect it will start to chunk off eventually. Time to buy a new mat!
Thickness is great. It states non slip. I slide on this mat all the time making it hard on my joints when doing Adho Mukha Svanasana(downward facing dog) If you do a once in a while practice its fine, but a daily practice that is fairly intense.. no go! especially in a hot vinyasa class. You'll slide everywhere!
Since I'm pregnant, I was excited to finally invest in a quality yoga mat, but have to say that I'm very disappointed. While it's nice and cushiony, downward dog is a challenge. I've used this mat over 10 times and still slide all over. Not only that but after washing it it appears as though the finish rubbed off in one area (it's smudged). I'll be looking elsewhere.
While the design on this mat is beautiful and such a statement, I always finish yoga with purple feet and hands. As I've used it within the past month, it's print design is fading and transferring onto my skin! I'm so sad because I get so many compliments with this yoga mat and I love how thick the mat is for cushion, but I cannot get over how the ink always transfers on me by the end of every yoga session. It has left me disappointed and yearning for a better mat...
This mat is extremely slippery. I've tried using it several times and even mildly washed the surface, but have seen no improvement on stickiness. It's unusable for me at this point and I wish I hadn't bought it.
I purchased this mat for my regular home practice. After just a few uses, it's already showing signs fo wear - idents and scratches in the top surface. Its a lightweight, soft foam that is not much different than a regular fitness or pilates mat. Definitely not slip-free. Would not recommend, waste of money.
