Really great yoga mat

kf414 October 9, 2018

I got the plum jam yoga mat. It's really nice! I like the color a lot. It's the perfect shade of lavender, and its about 5mm thick. Definitely has enough cushion and comfortable. I have another mat that is thicker which makes it harder to carry around and transport. I am a yoga beginner, and I think it fits my lifestyle well. It wasn't slippery, and i really like using this for a simple practice, or just stretching. It's a great mat! I am writing this review as part of a promotion.

Great Non Slip Mat after a Slight Tweak

CondoBlues February 4, 2016

I had my heart set on upgrading my yoga mat to a super expensive and more grippy one. My husband surprised me this mat for Christmas and it would be rude to return it. The dark purple side is non slip and grippy. Unfortunately the light purple side isn't as much. The whole mat slid when I changed positions light down and my hands and feet slid when I used it light side up. As a last ditch effort to save the mat before replacing it, I lightly ran a fine grit sanding sponge diagonally across and down the light side of the mat before yoga class and my slipping problem is solved! I'm glad because otherwise I like the mat. The price is MUCH better than the spendy grippy mat I originally thought I needed and best of all and most important, I'm happy to use my husband's thoughtful gift.

Very happy with this mat

EllaBee February 12, 2015

I'm a beginner, but I didn't want to buy a really cheap mat only to end up needing to spend again to get a decent one. After reading a lot about how to choose a yoga mat, I went with this one. It has just the right balance of cushioning and support. The colors are vibrant without being too bright.

Not as cushiony as I hoped

Mary Erena March 4, 2018

I have a Gaiam yoga mat that has seen better days. Bought another one (5 mm) thinking it would be of the same quality and thickness. Very disappointed that it isn't as thick as my older one. I have to put a garden pad under my hip when doing side planks because there isn't enough cushion. A positive is that the mat is very easy to keep clean, easy to put in my yoga bag and I like the color combo (blue/grey). Another positive about Gaiam mats they do last a long time. My original mat is close to 14 years and just started to break down a few months ago. And I use my mat 3 times a week.

Short and sticky

Sandy57 May 31, 2014

This mat is really sticky. I bought it for that reason. The mat has enough cushion, but it is about 4 inches shorter that my old mat. I am 5'4" and either my feet or my hands are off the mat. I thought I was getting a standard size. The shortness of the mat is the reason I gave it only 3 stars. If you are short this is a god mat.

Bad for sweating/hot yoga

virginiayogi April 8, 2016

I bought this a while back and didn't see any issue as I only used to go to regular classes but now that I am more advanced, I go to hot yoga/power classes which result in much more sweat/heat. I am very unhappy with this mat now because of that as I slip and slide around on it. I even took a fall onto my face this past week because I don't have enough grip. I know its too late to return it, but I would if I could.

SLIPPERY

hawk5228 January 30, 2017

I used the mat once and had to use towels to keep me stationary. I was advised by your customer service to clean it then try again but due to the material with which its made, it will be slippery. I don't understand why a yoga mat would ever be slippery. I'm going to continue to clean it and perhaps I will fair better in the future.
