Slippery at first, but I fixed it
I was really excited to receive my mat and immediately wiped it with water like they say to, and then left it unrolled to dry. Then a day later I took it to a class, and my hands were sliding EVERYWHERE. I could not hold a down dog to save my life. I'm not even someone who typically has sweaty hands but I feel like the mat actually made my hands sweat more. Luckily, I brought my sweatshirt into class with me, so I put that over top and that fixed it temporarily. When I got home I looked up what Gaiam recommends which is washing it with a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar. I wiped it down good and let it sit out for a few days. I just tried it again at home yesterday and it actually seemed to work like 90% of the way! I think doing that, combined with using it and breaking it in more, will fix the issue. Overall, now that I fixed the slipperiness, I really like my mat and how thick it is. I think it's a good value for the pricepoint.

Terrible , every time I used I would have purple pain and pieces of the mat material on my clothes and skin, waste of money
