If you need deep pressure to provide relief this product is for you! I have so much tension in my upper thoracic. I require a chiropractic adjustment and a deep tissue massage every 2 weeks! This roller is the first product I have come across to give me relief without desperately asking my boyfriend to pop my back in between chiropractic adjustments!!! Which yes I know isn't ideal haha. It's great to finally have a product that gives me relief between adjustments!! Thank you Gaiam!!!
I was running through barnes and nobles for a lap desk, and this was on the display next to it. Picked it up on the fly as I am been searching for something to decompress my spine between massages. I have bad upper back from working on the computer and a torn trapezius from an accident a while back. Best $$ i ever spent. First time I could totally release my back by myself. I travel a lot, so to have something I can pack easy is a plus. It is perfect, is as amazed on how well it released. A week later an I am so flexible..thank you!
This roller is great for deep tissue relief. I've tried the miracle ball, foam roller, electric massager, TENS unit, husband's pointy elbows, etc. to relieve middle and upper back muscle tension and spasms all as methods of biding my time between massages and chiropractor visits.
I can't live without this. I use it daily and often can't wait to get home from work to use it. It release the kinks in my neck and down spine. Just lying on this gives me great relief. I also take this with me whenever I travel. Price point is great too. I have had mine for 1.5 years. I do not find mine too hard. There are harder ones out there and I find those painful to roll on. This one is just perfect. I am about to purchase another one for family member with back issues.
I thought this was one of those items you put under your back and lay down on it. As you relax it is more comfortable. That is what I have been doing with it and it has helped my lower back pain. I have a big, hard "Rumble Roller" for rolling up and down my spine but I think this gaiam item serves a different purpose. It was very painful to lay on but I could slowly feel my muscles relax. I am glad I got it
On floor a little hard, uncomfortable, and hard to align. Works better on the wall.
Bought this when I pulled a muscle in my back and think the added circulation may have speeder recovery. Not for the faint hearted though as it's hard. Definitely use it against a wall rather than the floor. Use it at night before you go to sleep to unlock some tension in your back
Positive: Works nicely, and good firmness. Each ball fits right into the larger part of each muscle on either side of the spine to relieve that muscle tightness. Negative: I do wish the two balls were closer together so it ran right along my spine on either side for better relief of some rib pain though, that's where my pain is.
This is very hard and unpleasant for a back roller. I am giving it two stars because it works awesome as a foot roller. The ball portion on the sides fits nicely into the inside arch area and I actually like it better than the actual foot roller on this site.
I bought this because I have another, smaller, less expensive version, and I thought this would be better. Big mistake. The material is too hard- it really hurts when I use it, and the nubs are very rough and unpleasant. I didn't get around to returning it, but I never use it
