I've never tried oiling out a painting before and was recommended this product. It worked great and was easy to use. Gamblin products are always a good choice in my opinion.
Great idea…3 in 1 save me mixing for an oil out
real thick consistency , Has to be the One of the highest quality paint I've ever come across. When you paint on top of this your oil paint has a shine opposed to the splotchy effect of painting over acrylic. It really doesn't matter not just your scale but the quality of the supplies you use. I think this right over canvases that are already acrylic gessoed I also use it over rabbit skin gesso
This is very good quality artist's grade safflower oil. I have just started using Walnut oil based paints and had purchased this product with the intention of using it to clean brushes. I've since learned that you don't need to use artist's quality oil like this for brush cleaning (any grocery store oil is fine for that) so I'm saving what's left to use as a medium.
I used to use gesso to prime my panels for oil painting panels but it made my panels more absorbent. Recently I switched to oil ground and the difference is quite obvious! The oil ground makes panels less absorbent and so I am able to manipulate the paint better! This product is awesome!
I've used a variety of mediums with oil painting, and this Meoglip is an excellent choice to keep your paint moist and buttery. It extends the drying time, so if you're not a fan of slow drying oils, than this product is the not right choice. But I love it.
I bought this to try out varnishing my watercolors with it for a "no glass" framing option. It worked beautifully just as YouTube said it would. I used 2 thin layers on each piece, and buffed out imperfections after 24 hours of curing. With our Austin humidity, it stayed tacky for 48 hours or so, but is nice and wipe-able after that.
This was the perfect set for me to try some new mediums. The size is just right to get to thoroughly try them out and the insert was super helpful for a quick description of what they all do. Also, cheaper here than other places I saw them for sale.
I purchased a pint of this product never having used it before. It went on so easily and covered so well I was amazed. Drips were easy to work into other areas. One pint covered three 6; x 8' canvases with enough left over for another 6 x 8, two 12 x 36s, and more I am sure. I will be ordering more.
I'm new to painting. Oil is a medium I've never tried. This was brand and the products inside were recommended in an tutorial. I was glad to find this kit to try things out. The price and size are good if you are unsure which you will need or testing the brand.
