I love this dinnerware set, it is really nice. Is is a place setting for 4 and it's absolutely beautiful! The plates and the big bowls have the same design, the saucers and the small bowls have each, a different design. I like that they are not the cheap, thin dinnerware that chip easily, they are of a medium thickness and easy to handle. We use these everyday and throw them in the dishwasher, I don't know if these dishes lose their color if you use the heated dry setting, because I always air dry them. They are so nice, that, I'm thinking of getting another set, but in a different color.
First, I would like to say, the description says light blue but these are not light blue. The pictures do show them accurately that they are more of a royal blue, which is exactly what I wanted. I recently moved and these are perfect to update my new kitchen. My backsplash has royal blue in it also so these continue that color scheme. I have a relaxed country decor with white cabinets. I love that the patterns are not exactly the same on the bowls. My sister felt they were a little lightweight, so only time will tell how durable they will be.
I'll start with packaging. I received mine by FedEx. Everything arrived fine. Every dish and bowl are separated by cardboard and their are three layers of corrugated cardboard (minimum) between the dishes and the shipping box exterior. My everyday dishes are Corelle. These are much nicer, more uniform, and thinner. All design work lies under multiple layers of glaze/coating. They just have the look and feel of a quality product. I appreciate that all of the dishes are in a usable size for me. I don't like bowls that are no bigger than a cup, just shaped differently. My Corelle bowls are big enough for a small serving of pudding. Both bowls are big enough for what I consider honest portions. One works well as a pasta plate.
The Gap Home New Sage Green 16-piece Dinnerware Set is a practical and beautifully crafted addition to your table scape. This dinnerware set takes you effortlessly from everyday family meals in your breakfast nook to casual get-togethers and special occasions in your formal dining room. The ceramic set washes easily in the dishwasher and heats food safely in the microwave. The service for four includes: ten-inch dinner plates; eight-inch dessert plates; six-inch bowls; and six-inch dinner bowls; a four-course-meal is in-the-bag. Other mix-and-match pieces are available to purchase. The Gap Home New Sage Green 16-piece Dinnerware Set is light weight, convenient, easy to use, generously sized to ensure you and your guests will have a relaxed dining experience. This dinnerware set replaced a stoneware set from the nineteen seventies. Dishes from that time period were heavy, not microwaveable, and not dishwasher friendly. The Gap Home New Sage Green 16-piece Dinnerware Set will be a much needed upgrade. Aging hands need lighter weight, dishwasher and microwaveable friendly dishes. I recommend purchase of this beautifully designed dinnerware set.
The Home New Light Blue Fine Ceramic Dinnerware Set is beautiful, I really love the cute designs on this set. They are made very nice and durable. I like how the plates are not to thin nor to thick they are just perfect. These types of dish sets are perfect for any time to use or even just a set for summer based on they way they are and decorated. The set does look elegant and attractive when set on the table. I hope they last me a long time because they are now my favorite dishes. I would definitely recommend this set.
This is a really nice set of dishes! You can use them for everyday use or even a nice brunch with family or friends. Each piece is lightweight, but not fragile. I've washed them in the dishwasher and heated them in the microwave without any issues. I've put everything from hot soups and ice cream in the bowls, Hot food will make them very hot, so be careful handling them. Also when heating in the microwave they will come out very hot. Use oven mitts or something to pick them up and hold them. The dinner plates are good size for full meals. The smaller plates are just as nice, just your typical salad or bread plate. We use them for small lunches and deserts.
The Gap 16 piece dinnerware set is absolutely what I needed. It comes with 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 shallow bowls and 4 salad plates. Each piece is light weight and the contrast in the bowls and salad plates makes a statement. The pewter is a gray color so is very versatile. Really like that the set doesn't come with coffee cups! Have washed in dishwasher many times. Haven't used in microwave. I would highly recommend this set.
This review is for the Gap Home new bone sixteen piece double bowl dinner ware set. The color is sage green. This is a very attractive set of dinner ware. It comes with what I will call soup type bowls and cereal type bowls. It also comes with a set of normal dinner plates and a set of smaller plates that we found useful to use for serving desserts. There are four cereal bowls, four soup bowls, four dinner plates and four dessert plates. I am bot sure if they make matching coffee mugs, but I am going to be on the look out for those since this is such a beautiful set of dishes. The only con to these is that the cereal type bowls do not nest perfectly inside one another in the same way that the soup type bowls do. It makes it a little unstable in our cabinets and I worry that might lead to them getting broke. That is not at all a deal breaker for me and I still really love this dinner ware set. I would highly recommend this set to anyone looking for a small dinner ware set.
These are beautiful dishes and arrived well packaged with no breakage. They are a little lighter weight than expected and feel more fragile than my stoneware. However, they go through the dishwasher and microwave with flying colors! I have accidentally clinked other dishes into these with no breakage to date. I'm very pleased with the purchase and do recommend for casual dining/entertaining!
These are nice plates. I love the color. The bowls and smaller plates have different patterns which is nice. The plates are light weight but that means they are also thin. I think they could break easily if roughly handled. The bowls are a bit of an awkward size. These plates would look nice for decorative purposes or work for everyday use.
