I'm reaching out because I am extremely disappointed with the quality and safety of the swing set I purchased on July 26. We assembled it at the beginning of August, following the instructions carefully, and after only about one month of normal use, we have already experienced multiple problems.
The most concerning issue happened while my 9-year-old daughter, who weighs approximately 85 pounds, was using the saucer swing. One side of the swing suddenly slipped completely through the nut/fastener and she fell to the ground. It appears that the plastic component either stretched or failed under normal use. Thankfully, she was not injured, but this could have resulted in a serious injury. A children's swing set should absolutely not have a connection point fail after only a few weeks of use by an 85-pound child.
We are also having several other issues:
* The slide is noticeably crooked. We have unbolted, repositioned, and re-bolted it multiple times trying to correct it, and nothing works. My daughter is autistic, and the crooked slide is extremely upsetting to her, to the point that she does not want to use it.
* One of the swings hangs so low that it practically drags on the ground when a child sits on it. There does not appear to be any reasonable way to shorten or adjust it.
* At this point, the only part of the entire set that has worked properly and that my daughter can consistently enjoy is the seesaw-style swing.
I understand that this was approximately a $200 swing set, and I certainly wasn't expecting commercial playground equipment. However, I did expect a children's product that was properly designed, functional, and—most importantly—safe. Having a swing attachment actually fail while my child was using it after only a month is completely unacceptable.
We purchased this set primarily for my autistic daughter so that she could have a safe place to swing and play at home, and instead it has become a source of frustration and a genuine safety concern.
I would appreciate hearing what you are prepared to do to rectify this situation. At this point, simply continuing to tighten, unbolt, re-bolt, and troubleshoot a brand-new swing set is not an acceptable solution. I would like an appropriate resolution, whether that is replacement parts that permanently correct these issues, a replacement product, or a refund.
Please let me know how you intend to resolve this.
Thank you,
Kathy
