So I finally got a chance to play a round of golf With my S70, All I can say is wow in conjunction with the C 10 sensors it kept score perfectly. Not really sure I need a rangefinder anymore as every time I double check the distances on the watch versus the rangefinder they were darn near exactly the same. The stats and data feedback after playing around the golf for excellent and useful. I'm not gonna lie. I still have a lot more to learn as there's so many options but between the Golf information and all of the health tracking benefits, this is by far the best watch I've ever owned.
Top rated golf watch but also use it for all my activities including running, walking, treadmill and pickleball. Golfed in Mexico City and the S70 automatically picked up the course layout details and yardage. I never take the watch off as it measures heart rate, sleep quality, steps and outdoor temperature
I have owned this new version for about four weeks and I absolutely love it. I had the older 62 model and appreciate the extra battery and display resolution. This is now my favorite everyday watch. -Sam
Love everything about the watch. The included band was a little shorter than I wanted. But after finding the right band can't believe I went this long without this watch. Absolutely love it
I love this watch. But for a right handed person I wish they would have reversed the side of the watch that the buttons are on. Sometimes when I swing my glove pushes the buttons in the right side of the watch. The buttons should be on the left side of this watch. I really bow my wrist during my swing and the glove just sometimes pushes the buttons on the right side of the watch. Other than that this watch is amazing!
I love this watch! As a golfer, it does all that really well, plus the additional features like step counting, HR, Walk GPS mapping and stats, sleep stats, fantastic!! Highly recommended. I had to go with the smaller watch 42mm as my wrists aren't exactly Popeye but if I was bigger, I woulda gone with the 47mm version in black.
I've had the garmin watch for a couple of years and loved it. Unfortunately I had to buy a new one after losing my other in Mexico
Surprised my husband for his birthday! He loves it! Excellent battery life great fit!
Im a hard to please tech nerd. I have tried at least 4 different ios and iwatch combo applications including the one with the fancy sensors on the clubs. None of them come close to the actual performance of this watch. BIGGEST difference is everything is run from the watch. It is not dependent with being connected to the phone. The only time you need a phone is if you are using the realtime weather calculations to account for “plays like” and yes it does the slope distance regardless of that. Last round I got at least 2 more GIR because the wind was such a factor. If you are like me and WANT to know you individual club stats and distances, its a must. You don't need sensors, they are optional. I watches a 20 min YouTube on how to configure and you the watch. Highly recommend. Battery life is awesome. I can play a round with weather data and only use 35% of the battery life, so it will easily run 36 holes in 1 charge. AFTER the round you can view it on your phone or online. I have only used the phone. ONLY 1 draw back for me, the app and phone do not connect to GHIN so you have to manually enter your scores.
Pros- Nice style and design, great display, great battery life, lightweight. Cons - A bit expensive, Bluetooth seems weak and loses connection frequently. So I've had this watch for about 6 weeks now, I think. I intentionally waited before reviewing so I could be as fair as possible. I have had multiple garmin watches and I really like garmin's products. I bought this to replace my Fenix 6S (Which I really liked, but I like new tech). Going to the S70 made sense for me because I like to use my watch for GPS when golfing, and Garmin has a top notch product for golf watches, and I will say that this watch does not disappoint in that area. My issues aren't with that but more so of the simple connectivity to my phone. I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and I had some trouble originally getting the watch to fully connect using the connect app that I've had always used. Garmin does have support and they helped me resolve that issue and I have all my functions working on the App. The bluetooth, however, will connect and disconnect frequently and especially if my phone is over 10' away from my watch. My Fenix watch could easily be 60+ feet away. Also, for whatever reason, the phone (text, call, etc.) notifications will stop coming through and I may have to restart my watch or phone to get it resolved. I feel like they will probably do a software update at some point but for now it's really annoying. I'll continue to use this watch and hope to figure out a way to keep the connection solid and/or Garmin fixes this. I've also used this for other activities and it works well.
