I just recently purchased this watch. My previous Garmin was a Garmin Tactix 8. Another fine watch but I needed a watch that I can take with me scuba diving. Haven't used that function yet but, the rest of the watch is amazing I received several positive comments about it while I'm out and about. Easy to use, and it looks great. Thank you
I got the 51mm, and it is a chonk (in a good way). The titanium band is very nice, but even adjusted to smallest setting, is a touch loose for me (8” wrists), so consider that. I've done about 8 dives in murky water, but only down about 30 feet. The sceen is easy to read, and all the features seem very useful, even for a noob like me. It does a strange thing where it'll go into “Red-Shift” mode rather randomly. And…..the flashlight is very handy! I use that all the time. Not cheap, but I have no regrets.
I have had all previous versions of the Descent MK and I have loved them! So was super keen to grab the MK3i! Super keen to take it for a spin off Straddie and also do the Noosa Tri in 2 weeks! Husband also gets a new computer in grabbing my MK2i now… lucky man
I only have great things to say about my MK3i. The watch and Garmin ecosystem have fundamentally awoke my fitness and health awareness. I appreciate the direction we are heading with wearable tech. One thing that I can attest to without any doubt is the absolute quality of the glass. I beat this watch up daily and have yet to scratch or crack the glass. The raised bezel does its job exceptionally well.
Awesome. Trying to make a good attempt to promote your products on social media!!! Love your products
I had a descent MK1 for years and have upgraded to the MK3 this month. I love that it is a powerful amazing dive computer and I wear it to the gym. As a dive master and technical diver and physical trainer...its perfect. It handles then multiple gases I dive with and provides spot on planning assistance. In addition...it wonderful in the gym.
I've taken my first trip with the new Mk3i and love it. I dove the Mk31 and Mk2i side by side, and the Mk3i is even easier to read. There was no noticeable difference in the two computer's dive management algorithms for the dive, so that awesome. The T1 and T2 transmitters were within 3 psi of each other from start to finish, so that too is awesome. That said, the Mk3i's T2 transmitter does emit a rather high pitch pulse every 10-12 seconds which isn't great, but whatever (as long as it doesn't scare-off the fish). I was able to pair with my buddy's new Mk3i/T2 setup for air monitoring and texting, and it works as expected. I really hope Garmin soon allows us to to make-up some of our own text messages/responses (using Connect I'm guessing) because the current stock messages are rather bland and boring. I did need to rethink the altimeter settings since the computer said I was at -65.4 feet when I was sitting in the boat (see the picture), but once I switched to having it use GPS for altimeter all was well. All in all I'm super happy with the computer and I know my son is going to love getting my current Mk2i as a gift.. :)
I'm a diving professional who enjoys a very active lifestyle. My last watch was a Garmin Fenix 5s and loved it. After almost 6 years I decided to upgrade to this one. It did not disappoint. It does everything my Older Fenix did plus my diving activities and new health analytics. I'm very happy with my new watch.
Love the large format numbers and letters, so much easier to see at depth. And the battery does seem to last forever, no more worrying about 3-tank dives! All features great; only issue I have is that I also use the watch for lap counting while doing swimming workouts, and sometimes it misses a lap; sometimes it recovers a few laps later but on occasion it does not.
You must use Garmin Dive to set this up. Adding a face from IQ...not on IOS (Apple). IQ shows the device but is not connected. Garmin says to uninstall and reinstall Dive, Connect, IQ; re-pair through the phone. Nothing works. Two pieces of Garmin software can't talk to each other. Research indicates this has been a known problem for over three years. I just wanted a cool smart watch. Instead, I got a massive headache and hole in my wallet. Trust my life to "just reinstall the software"? Thinking not a good idea.
