It leaves your cell to use as it was designed. To have a dedicated unit which only does navigation is more than handy. Of course the price is right and swift delivery - it's Walmart!

Does just exactly what I want it to do. No more getting lost in the big city.

Works well. It warns when you are approaching a speed limit change or a school zone. Great value for the price if you are limited on cellular data.

Didnt want it got old one up and running. But when I went to send back .it has been 2 month and still no refund. Don't recommend ordering again . HOPE I GET REFUND SOON!!!!!

If you have an older Garmin Nuvi 7XX series, you will be immensely frustrated by this Drive 50 model when trying to enter an address. You cannot just enter state, city, street address as you did in older models and then save. The software is not intuitive at all. The software platform is built around doing automatic searches. As you enter components of the address, it searches 3 nearby states, not necessarily your destination state if you could have keyed it. After a few hours of frustration while just trying to enter a destination in a far state and save it (nope, not easy to save - takes a few taps to the right buttons to do this), I downloaded the .pdf version of the owners manual - very detailed but not with the user in mind; too many 'go to page x' interruptions. Finally, I looked at the web version of the owners manual and that helped. And, after, a few hours of the web manual and using it and playing around with it, you figure out what the children that wrote the software were trying to do - nothing is straight forward. You have to adapt to their way of looking at entering addresses instead of simple state, city, street address of yesteryear models. Once you figure out how to change the 'Searcing Near' city or entering the complete address in the address bar and then figure out how to save an address by tapping the right buttons and then get a list of saved addresses by noticing the top right tab presented after tapping 'Saved' , you adapt to it. On this 5 inch model and its graphic keyboard, heaven help you if you do not have pencil thin fingers; you need a stylus and you need to tap the top portion of a letter; you will have many mis-keys and get an adjacent letter. If you need to use the letter M or N, at the bottom of the keyboard, good luck; you will inadvertently activate the 'globe' or 'search' buttons below them. and lose what you have keyed in when you tap the 'go back' button. Don't even think about using the keyboard if you are moving. Battery life - you have about 35 minutes unconnected to power before you get the 'battery low' warning. Initial power up and set up - don't even think about doing anything until you supply power and charge the battery; connecting to your laptop doesn't do it; I had my old Garmin AC adapter and that worked to get the battery charged enough to go thru the start up steps and registration steps -bear in mind you need a registration code from your Walmart receipt.. Downloading the most recent maps takes an easy 2.5 hours on a DSL network. Now, that I have invested this much time adapting to the 'I'm here to help you non-intuitive' interface, I will probably keep it pending how it works on the road. Will miss my old Nuvi 760 - its touch screen stopped working.
