We are snowbirds. We always pack our old Garmin when we head to Florida. This year we decided to keep our old Garmin (which is over 10 years old and still works great) up north and purchase a new Garmin in Florida. This would save on one less thing to pack. We are very happy with our new GPS. We like the voice activated feature and drive safe mode with split screen that shows multiple lanes. Super quality and works great!
The hands-free navigation option is fantastic.
Superb unit with nice glass screen and the great current Garmin OS with lifetime maps. Nothing better is available at this price!
So far so good, we are planning to use on trip to Canada, and we will know more then. Local areas been pretty good so we shall see.
Everything and more than I hoped it would be. Would definitely recommend this for anyone.
This was purchased as a primary car GPS. Compared with older *699 model, it syncs with satellites in a few secs and has a bit less glare. I've had it for a few months now; hasn't had any errors in navigation. With a few exceptions, mostly chooses fastest route. When getting off a route, recalculated quite quickly. Not always accurate at counting in traffic delay time, but this model is not HD; maybe, that matters. Garmin generally lags behind Google in updating new areas; had a couple of instances when it wouldn't have the address that existed for, at least, half a year. Overall, still giving it 5 stars, as it's as close to perfection as one could get with these devices. In Houston, it has worked reliably for me so far.
The product was missing a mounting bracket, needed to return it and I ordered another unit.
While I liked the fact you could speak into the gps without typing a location, place, etc… about 97% of the time, the machine did not get the spoken commands correct. Also, the gps has not been updated to include the newest and most accurate data. You will need to purchase a separate item to update the data. For the price of this device, it is not worth the hassle and money.
The Garmin doesn't work I think the battery's bad it doesn't wanna hold a charge and will not stay on
I ended up getting 2 of these from Beach Camera. The first one had problems with flickering all the time. It was impossible to use. After talking with customer service, it was decided to send it back for another new one. That one worked fine for 3 weeks, then just quit. Could not turn it on. Sent it back and got my money back.
