Garmin DriveSmart 55 GPS with Traffic

This Garmin is great. I am able to hook it in with my Wi-Fi and update my maps anytime I need to. Ease of use is important to me. And like garmin's I've had in the past the directions are always good. I would highly recommend this particular garmin.

Best GPS ever. Can't say much more than that. I've had TomTom, Garmin, and Navigon and this Garmin is by far the best one ever. Clear and easy to use. Loud enough to hear and has many options. Can't go wrong with this one. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Great device saves time

Good graphics. Voice command works well and simple to use. No need to type addresses, just say it. You can pick it from your favorites or say the full street address. Has got me out of big parking lots but not all parking lots are mapped. Fairly easy to learn to use. Makes a sound when speed limit changes and always shows the current speed limit. I find it very helpful as I have tendency to daydream while driving and forget to pay attention to speed limits. I do miss MP3 player that I have in my old Nuvi, but the GPS's today just don't come with it. Battery does not last long without being connected to power source. It was a bit problem when I first tried to learn all the features. Maps updated without problem.

We recently upgraded our older Garmin 50 with the DriveSmart 55. One of the main reasons for this purchase was to take advantage of its capability of syncing up with a backup camera. To that end, we also purchased the Garmin BC 40 backup camera. Now granted, these are not the latest technologies available from Garmin, but they are rock solid, and they work beautifully. If you wait for technology companies to come out with their latest technology before you buy, they'll have "discontinued" it before you hit the "purchase now" button. I went with a 4 only because the voice commands leave a little bit to be desired, but overall it's good technology, it works well, navigation is strong, and it's reasonably priced. I recommend it whole heartedly

Works great, easy to operate.

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. Thought the price was reasonable. Have owned garmin in past and we loved it so I decided to try another one.

This is my 4th Garmin GPS in 10 years. Streets in my area that were not there 10 yrs ago are still not there, even after updating to most recent maps. Lie to say it updates very frequently its destinations.

BUYER BEWARE! Price is not everything. I purchased this from a Walmart selling partner, HonestDeals. It came in a blank white box (not factory boxed). I don't know if this unit was new or refurbished...the info on the website did not say anything about it being refurbished. I got such a bad feeling about this product, I called Walmart and returned it immediately.
