Great watch for health and fitness and biometrics

Hikerguy May 16, 2026

I was skeptical at first about moving away from Apple, but after using the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2), I can confidently say this watch is on another level for fitness, hiking, and overall functionality. The customization alone is incredible , being able to create my own custom watch face and even add my company logo made it feel truly personal and professional at the same time. The durability is outstanding, and the silicone wristband is extremely comfortable whether I'm in business attire, at the gym, or out on a long hike. One of my favorite features is the built-in LED flashlight. It sounds simple, but once you use it, you realize how useful it is every single day, especially for hiking, travel, and early morning workouts. I'm also extremely impressed with how seamlessly it syncs with AllTrails and integrates into my hiking routine. The glance features are fantastic as well. I can quickly check stock updates for my investments, weather conditions, biometric data, notifications, and fitness metrics all from a stylish watch that honestly looks far more premium than most smartwatches on the market. What really separates this watch for me is the biometric and health data. During my fitness journey, the recovery tracking, HRV, sleep data, training metrics, and overall wellness insights have been incredibly valuable and motivating. I wear this watch 24 hours a day because it has become such an important tool for both my health and outdoor activities. Garmin absolutely exceeded my expectations with the Epix Pro (Gen 2). Highly recommended.

Game changer

Nickisaac April 15, 2026

Best Garmin watch I’ve ever owned! I’ve had the Tactix, forerunners, fenix and this Epix is great. You can’t beat the screen even in sunny conditions. I am now spoiled and won’t go back.

Everything I Expected!

FFF63 January 1, 2026

This watch was everything I expected. Took a chance and bought this 'renewed - like new condition and that is exactly what arrived - looks and acts brand new! after 30 days so far so good! I bought this to replace my Garmin 245 Music so I would not have to using a charging puck halfway through an upcoming 100K in Arizona (I am an old and slow back of the packer!). So far on my long runs it barely uses much battery and I fully expect to still have over 50% left at the end of the 100K. I am still getting used to all of the features. 31 days of battery life - insane! Using the flashlight more than I thought I ever would. Enjoy reading the morning report when I wake up. Also like that it turns itself to 'quiet mode' at night - nice feature. love the amoled display and the fact that I can use the buttons for traditional walk though or use the touchscreen. My biggest worry was the weight and size but honestly I don't even know it's there even when sleeping with it on at night and it does not look too big on my wrist (medium size build).

Epix Pro Gen 2 - best Garmin yet for me.

MC171 July 6, 2025

A worthwhile upgrade from the ageing Fenix 3HR and Vivoactive 4. Standout features and huge improvements include the amazing display, extended battery life, enhanced health features and activity inclusions like windsurfing. It has been an absolute pleasure in daily use and a big inspiration contributor to improving my activity and performance levels. Very happy and impressed with the Epix.

Epix Pro gen2 51mm

Bobby’s August 24, 2023

I’ve been a long time fan and owner of Garmin devices starting back with the Fenix when introduced. The technology just continues to evolve and so do the capabilities. My latest purchase is without a doubt, the best of them all. The AMOLED display is amazingly beautiful, and zero compromises. I am impressed by the design and incredible battery life that blows the competition out of the water. If you are on the fence, it’s time to jump over to this bad boy and enjoy the view!

Fantastic watch

Edub34 September 25, 2023

I guess I am a Garmin junkie as well as a watch guy. I have a bunch. Got my first Garmin 6X solar 51mm as a gift in 2020. Loved it after seeing them and wanting to get one, but held off because it was advertised and still is advertised as a fitness watch. Although I work out I never track my routines. In early 2022 I got the Fenix 7X Solar 51mm. Then September 3rd 2023 I got the Garmin epix Pro Gen 2 Carbon gray Sapphire Edition 51mm. And then week later got the Garmin epix Pro Gen 2 Titanium w/ Whitestone Band 51mm. I do not use any of the features this fine watch has to offer. I just like these Garmin's because they are big, great battery life and look great on my wrist.

Only one knock.

Jason January 28, 2026

Battery life is fantastic, my old Apple Watch had to be charged every other day and this thing goes weeks. Interface is as expected, screen is sharp, and flashlight is great. Everything works great, except it can be kind of buggy updating and downloading maps which is a major pain. I had to connect to app on computer to get it to finally work.

Poor finish to the metal edges

Patrick B June 14, 2024

I have used a Fenix 6 Pro Solar every day for 2 years. I upgraded to this Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire because the solar function on the Fenix 6 stopped working and also wanted to try the new AMOLED and touch screen on the Epix. I like everything about the watch except the sharp edges around the edges of the face. See photo. The metal lugs (1. in the picture) of the watch are sharp enough to possibly cut skin, knife edge sharp. Must have been missed during manufacturing? There are 4 lugs on this watch and 2 are very, very sharp and 2 are not so sharp. I like the watch and decided to keep it but will have to try to file down those sharp edges. The minor area (2. in the picture) of sharpness is not going to cut anybody but is annoying and my fingers catch on it all the time when using the watch and just feels uncomfortable.

upset the screen

pol_by June 2, 2025

This is not my first Garmin watch, but the problem with the screen disappointed me, considering the cost of the watch is one of the highest on the market.

I like this watch very much but had I known it was going to be discontinued I wouldn't have purchased it.
