Great Basic GPS

K26kv March 3, 2025

Didn't want to run the battery down on my phone and just wanted a basic easy to use GPS for walking around on trails and logging roads. This is the perfect GPS. It's small, easy to use and uses batteries instead of needing to be plugged in to recharged...I do use rechargeable batteries and always carry two spares in my daypack. My only complaint is that it would have been nice if it came with a case.

Works great

Jordan D May 1, 2022

Very easy to use and works great with the shorty and handle bar Ram mounts. Use a camera strap or similar wrapped around your handle bars to give an extra added security for the just in case your GPS comes out of the holder.

I like it so far

Brett June 10, 2025

I recently used this for a few days in MT. It seems to spool up faster than the old eTrex. I like the joystick and push to enter function. There are a few things I'm still learning but it seems to be a reasonably good unit. It might do too much- that is, I won't use all its functionality.

Could be more user-friendly. There's an initial learning curve. Good accuracy and tracking capabilities.

Just one little problem..

Patricia November 19, 2023

It was a bit confusing at first so, READ THE DIRECTIONS. Besides that, it's a nice little gps for beginners. One thing: no carrying case or clip. You have to buy a protective case separately. Besides that, it's good.

Still hopeful!

KG January 12, 2021

Giving a two star at this point because I still have not figured out how to use it1 The app for it, Basecamp, requires a masters degree to us, not user friendly. The owners manual in the system is worthless, but I did find one online that is 18 pages that is much better, but still confusing to use and follow. I am still hopeful I can figure this out and use it, so I'm keeping it, at this point!

Defective exchange rip off.

William January 3, 2024

I bought this on sale . The one I got was defective. I carried it back to local store hopping for an exchange. They did not have this item in stock. When I reordered on line the price went up.

Disappointing Garmin

anonymous June 27, 2025

This is a very disappointing product. Tiny screen shows tiny maps. Complex operation without touch screen. Set up was unsuccessful. I returned this today. Now I'm looking at a Magellan TR7 with touch screen on a screen that's 4 times the size of the Garmin for $70 more and it has windshield mount, two power cord types (110V and 12V). Oh yeah, the Magellan includes rechargeable battery where the garmin does NOT include alkaline batteries.
