Happy trails Apple Ultra 2!

heathvanegas May 16, 2026

This fēnix 8 Pro is hands down my best purchase in quite some time. I used a fēnix 5 for a long time but moved to an Apple Watch Ultra 2 for syncing across devices. After a year of Apple Watch, I realized how much I actually didn't like it. Fēnix proves easier to use with organic menu flow and, the best part, PHYSICAL BUTTONS. Gone are the days of accidentally opening apps, calling people, or screwing up workouts with unintentional touchscreen hits and swipes. I can't tell you how many times I reset a workout while doing deadlifts. The screen resolution is amazing with great clarity and colors. The workout tracking is clear, linear, and intuitive. This watch is the number one piece of gear that actively keeps me engaged in my fitness journey, whether it's my runs, lifting sessions, hikes, or mountain biking. The bonus is the LTE and satellite options for communications. Besides all that, I disconnected from all the electronic noise that filled my days via push notifications from every single app. I'm enjoying that silence. Quieting the noisy world and focusing on you is just one amazing benefit of this so-much-more-than-a-watch.

Everything you need in a great watch.

WilliamEquestrian June 12, 2026

Best sports and training watch I have ever owned. Morning summary and daily plan get your day started with essential fitness information and relevant weather and motivational fitness suggestions. My Fenix 5 Pro was great and the Fenix 8 Pro is a modern extension of that greatness. Easy to use and learn as well.

GARMIN FENIX 8 PRO

Rich1970 May 10, 2026

Great watch had them since the fenix 3 glad they added the phone chip just wish it was easier to use the interface it's hard to get it to work! It soul be better if it worked like the other major brands but i understand their modems use more energy so you would lose battery life! That is why i like the fenix 8 pro the best plus Garmin's software interface is better than all the rest and all the health metrics are better. All in all i think it is the best watch you can buy!

Absolute beast of a watch!

adp2380 April 28, 2026

I'm in the Apple ecosystem... This watch makes me forget about my Apple Watch Ultra. There are some features on the fēnix that are a bit clunky, especially when it comes to paying with my watch, messaging and calling -- also, with apps like new watch faces (especially Garmin -- they are not easily customizable on the watch). There are a few other things that I could note, primarily because all is not as smooth as AW Ultra when communicating with my other Apple devices; however, they are all forgivable at this point. Garmin, as a primary fitness device blows the AW out of the water -- tons of metrics pre-during-post run that are very helpful. The battery power is great, as well. If fitness is the goal, this is a fitness first device and in that capacity it functions great! Secondary things are lacking (messaging, calling, design customization), again, forgivable. It would be nice if Garmin would offer protection plans like Apple does -- with a device that promotes/tracks activity; accidents are bound to happen and having peace of mind that your device is insured would go a long way -- the watch is built like a tank, though! All things considered, this watch is a 5 star plus!

Unmatched Precision and Durability.

ricb17 June 4, 2026

I have been putting the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro to the test lately, and it has easily become the most capable piece of wearable tech I have ever owned. Coming from other high-end smartwatches, the transition to the Fenix 8 Pro feels like a significant upgrade in both build quality and functional depth. Design and Build: The craftsmanship is immediately apparent. It feels incredibly solid on the wrist, balancing a rugged, tactical aesthetic with a premium finish that looks just as good in professional settings as it does out on the trails. It's built to take a beating, which gives me great peace of mind while I'm moving equipment or out exploring on the weekends. Performance and Mapping: The software experience is buttery smooth. Everything from menu navigation to syncing with my various tracking apps is instantaneous. I've been particularly impressed with the mapping features—the detail level and responsiveness are leagues ahead of what I've experienced on other devices. It is genuinely a reliable companion for navigation. The Verdict: If you are looking for a watch that doesn't just "track" your day but actually empowers your performance, this is it. It's a powerful, reliable, and deeply customizable tool for anyone who takes their health and outdoor activities seriously. I couldn't be happier with the switch; it's a masterclass in sport-watch engineering.

Best display on any watch!

Lewis123 June 12, 2026

I've had this new watch for about a month, replacing an Epix Pro. I absolutely love the display - it's bright and way more readable, even when it's on dim, than any of my other previous Garmin watches. It's just a pleasure to look at. I also love that you can adjust the font size - I can now read even the smallest display items without glasses.

the features are fantastic; very intuitive; Amoled

Just purchased this watch. It’s my 3rd garmin. I love it. I use most all of the features but especially love the golf app built into the watch. The distances are spot on and really don’t use my range finder much these days. Love the long battery life. Buy one and you won’t regret it.

An upgrade that is appreciated

norstein April 28, 2026

I have only had the watch for a couple weeks but really like the advanced features that my fenix 6 did not have. I was a little frustrated with setting it up and getting all of my accessories to pair and work with it, especially my Stryd pods. Despite this I noticed that it was much more seamless than previous upgrades I have done and congratulate Garmin in its improvements in being able to upgrade with less pain. I have been a Garmin Device user for more than 25 years and really like their products and plan on continuing to use them

Love my Fenix 8 Pro

JRC960 June 9, 2026

Positives: I love that I don't have to charge it every couple of days like my old titanium Apple Watch. Very durable. Built-in inReach and GPS (this is the main reason I bought it). I used to have inReach on my Montana for dirt biking, but now having it on the watch means I have it with me all the time, not just when I ride. Maps on the wrist are great. It's still easier to use when paired with the phone, but it's a nice feature to have. A few downsides (nothing deal-breaking): It's hard to get an accurate water temperature reading. Apple handled this better—their watches have a sensor on the back and on the face, so you get an accurate reading almost instantly when you jump in. This was a bit of a letdown. Watch faces—you can't try them before buying. I bought one and didn't like it, so now I'm out the money just for testing it. I swim and dive, but haven't tried diving with this watch yet. I'm hoping it performs well. I liked my Apple Watch because it provided depth, temperature, duration, and max depth—all important metrics.

Dissapointing

JasonF April 14, 2026

Really dissapointed so far. I had high hopes for the watch, especially considering the premium price. It might do what I want, but I haven't figured it out yet. Garmin stuff is generally not user friendly, but I can usually figure out how do do what I want. Nothing is simple or intuitive, and the online help is mostly useless. The map doesn't have much functionality. The custom faces are difficult to deal with. The activites and biometrics don't seem to work very well. Nothing seems to work without a phone connection, and the interface with iPhone and apps isn't so great either. This is not something you can just strap on and start using, unless you only want to know what time it is.
