I got my forerunner 955 because i started running this year and i had an apple watch for the past 7 years and i needed to upgrade. Friends told me to get a Coros but i always wanted a GARMIN and 2 weeks before running my 1st half marathon i decided to get my 1st Garmin ever and im in love with it.
I've been wearing this watch for a few weeks now and I'm very impressed with all the data it captures. It helps me understand my sleep patterns and even recommends workouts for me with Garmin Coach
I bought the Forerunner 955 two weeks ago, it's been on my wrist 24/7 ever since that day. I love it, before the 955 I used to wear a Fenix 5 Plus and boy there is a big difference between them. First think I noticed the weight of course, FR 955 is very light hardly noticeable. I mainly bought the FR955 because of the multi gps bands it has. My Fenix 5+was/is very good on that area, but the FR 955 is much better 99%spot on, it takes like 3to4 seconds to acquire the GPS signal but once is connected it stays connected, I love the morning reports, battery life so far it's been very good, it lasts a whole week, I use the GPS on average for one hour every day, on days I have long runs, it could go up to two hours, with notifications on except during sleep time, no music, the Pulse Ox is set to On Demand only, brightness to 30% though. So maybe all that helps with the battery usage. My only cons are that I wish the watch face colors were a little brighter and with more colors to choose from and that the native watch faces were more flexible with the data I want to see at a glance, for example I like to have the battery icon and percent on my watch faces, but not all the watch faces let me add it. I bought the white model, because I thought it would match better with all my Fenix 5+ bands I have and I was not wrong. I really like too all the data I get now, the F5+ doesn't have all the thing that my FR 955 has, so it was time for an upgrade. Next I think I am going to get the HRM Pro Plus for even more data than I can understand, but that is great to have.
It's only been a few weeks, but I love my Forerunner! I'm still digging into all the features. The morning report, the run coach, the lightweight, the battery life, and, and, and.... I had other watches and trackers, and they are all gone because my forerunner is the one-stop shop for my training lifestyle.
I'm coming from the fenix 6s watch. I absolutely love the forerunner 955. It's much lighter. The watch band that comes with the 955 is so much better than fenix. Battery life was about 9days on fenix I'm getting between 11-15 days depending how much I use the gps. The touch screen is very responsive. I wish I would've started with the forerunner watch series over the fenix. I'll probably never go back to the fenix line up. And I know I will never own another Apple Watch. Garmin lifer!!!! I love the integration of the app and watch. Much easier to customize to your specific goals and needs.
I've had this watch for about a month now and am very happy with it overall. I was in need of a new smart watch to assist me with training for a half marathon and future marathons. It was between this watch and a new apple watch. I have no complaints about this watch at all. I've had Apple Watches for years and finally decided to go garmin. This watch has proven to be just as useful and stylish as any of my Apple Watches. This watch is super lightweight and easy to use once you figure how it works. I recommend!
Got the watch a month ago, first Garmin ever, I needed one since the old one died after a swimming session, I'm also preparing for a few running events this year, including a half marathon and planning to try triathlon later on! It works amazing and the battery is incredible
It pays close attention to my sleep and i love the morning report on how well i slept. It calculates my heart rate distance and steps pretty well and the battery life is great although sometimes i wake up to my watch telling me i have some steps which i dont understand.
Bought this watch not too long ago. Features are all you are accustomed from Garmin. Only problem is that I got a spot with dead pixels, not good.
I knew exactly what I'm buying 2 years ago. Good watches, lightweight, great functionality, battery life is great. I've been wearing them almost exclusively as smart watches as I do cycling and rarely other sports. Never dropped them, hit them or whatever. Only to find that screen is starting to detach from base on top. Zero scratches, nothing and they did this after only 2 years. For the price they are selling for that's simply unacceptable.
