it is fast respond GPS. I used to use old version of Garmin but nuvi 2597 has lot more advanced function than the old one. lane indication makes me more comfortable to use it. I haven't use other functions such as link with my smart phone to send a coordinate to find a place and back up camera capability with BC30. I will try the back up camera function later. traffic function should help to avoid traffic jam. It is comparable with google map, I believe. overall, excellent to have it.

This Garmin nuvi 2597 5' is smart, stylish understands all commands quickly and is dead on spot taking you where you need to be! I looked at so many I can't even tell you how many? So pleased with my choice and you will be too. Kevin

Nice mid range car navigation unit does what suppose to. One tip if driving back roads a lot pick the shortest route in system settings.

I bought this about a month ago and it was to replace an old model. This model is so much better. I am a little disappointed with the voice command for it has trouble with French words. Perhaps it would be an idea to program one with knowledge of the French Canadian language. It even has some difficulty with plain English words when using the voice command. As for the other features they are great, it even tells you what lane to be in when exiting. A great device! I would greatly recommend this gps.

Unfortunately, my home address doesn't seem to exist on this unit which really surprised me since this house has been here for 50 years. Not crazy about the way you put in the address. It seems backwards. Why wouldn't you start with the state and go from there instead of starting at the house number. It'll do in a pinch, but I won't be able to punch in take me home since it doesn't exist....

Came promptly, does not have wifi. Not what I expected, sending it back.

I like everything about this unit except the voice command get it wrong more than it gets it right. you say 1900 walnut it come back with 190001 nut or something really stupid also it sends you on road tours that are out of the way? I took a trip with it and it wanted me to take a turn fifty miles out of the way away from a four lane highway?? It does not know my street either and thinks the north south road is a east west road?? example while driving down 207th east ave(north south). it tells me to turn right on 207th? when you turn right it say continue on 207th. but the road going east west is 121st street.

The power cable that came with it does not have the traffic update feature. Have to purchase a new power cable to make the 2597LMT5 complete so I can use the traffic features.
