Garmin nüvi 50LM Automobile Portable GPS Navigator

I used this on a trip from N. Ohio to Memphis Tn. and it did not miss a beat. Not only advised of lane to be in and turns to make but shows lanes coming up and highlights the proper lane to move into about a mile before you need to make the turn. I was amazed that estimated time of arrival at destination was accurate within about 2 min. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

We replaced our old 1300 series Garmin with the 50LM 5" We were OK with the old one but it didn't come with the free lifetime updates like the new one. Very easy to use. We are older (60 & 79) so not so tech savvy. We use it close to home to find places we have never been and on our vacation driving trips. When out of town you can find stores and restaurants easily.

Have used it several times since I received the unit. Very accurate! Maps update was available when I plugged it into my computer. Registering the product is a very good idea! Quite a few free downloads(different vehicle icons, voices, etc)

It was found that a lot of time was spent updating the maps after purchase. Whoever buys one of these needs to be aware that a major map update will need to be done.

I have worked with GPS systems made by Magellan and Tomtom. The Garmin is the best by far. It is easier to use and has several informational capabilities that the others lack.

I have not used it completely yet but so far for the little time I have had it i enjoy it. The screen is big enough for me just do not like how the charger fits in the back instead of on the side. My other thing is getting the stand to stick on my dashboard but other then this the gps itself is good. I will text it out on my road trip today so excited lol

The GPS works great. The screen is big enough and I don't regret buying it for a second. The only problem I have is that every once in a while it just turns itself off, and then on in a couple of seconds. I am guessing this is a computer error in the GPS itself

Hi, My older Garmin was stolen in a car break-in so I ordered this product. I have spent about 6 hours of my time and 2 hours of my son's time trying to get this Garmin NUVI 50LM to recognize ALL OF NORTH AMERICA. I very frequently travel between the USA and Canada and no way can I get this Garmin to recognize any Canadian location/address and nor can I save the position. I am ready to return it to Walmart as Garmin itself offers no place for me to update map locations even though it is advertized as "North American Coverage". If Garmin has any way of satisfying my problem, I will do it and keep it or else it is on its' way back to Walmart and leave me searching for a new more user friendly product. Any one else had success?

It din't work at all. I tried to get directions from my home to a doctor's office about 30 miles away. I was famiiliar with the route having gone there before. If I had followed the directions that this GPS gave, I never would have gotten there. I returned it to Walmart an got a refubd.

This product as is is not useable. you have to buy a wire to hook it to the cigarette lighter and an attachment to hook it to the windshield So we send it back and we bought a Tom Tom from target at the same price but with all the needed parts to operate properly.
