Garmin STRIKER 4 with Transducer, 3.5" GPS Fishfinder with Chirp

Does everything I need it to and more. Mostly I wanted a depth finder, speedometer and temperature sensor. This has all that and other benefits I haven't even started to explore, and only cost $130. Highly recommended for a recreational fisherman and/or pleasure cruiser.

I bought this for Fathers Day for my husband as a second one on his fishing boat and he loves it. He said it is easy to use and it was easy to install.

Worked well out of the box. Easy install. Took a few tries to figure out the menu paths, but once I did was easy to use. GPS tracking feature is really cool. A LOT of features for the price.

Was looking for a good fish finder that wasn't too expensive and this fit the bill perfectly

I loved this fish finder and gps right out of the box. Garmin hit it out of the ballpark with this fish finder. Does as I expected and more. Great value, they should offer the Garmin gt8 transducer in the store also with it. I would have purchased one.

Don't mistake "waypoint map" for an actual map. Although this unit has GPS built-in, it has no maps built in whatsoever. It has a blank white screen that you can add waypoints as you move within relative space and leaves "breadcrumbs" of where you've been. You may not know where you are, but at least it's useful on how to get back. By comparison this is better featured than the Humminbird or Lowrance of same price range. With that said, for $120 it's perfect for my needs which was a small sonar display with depth, water temp, speed, and heading. Had I to do it all over again I might have waited and saved up the $300 for the 43dv, which would've given down imaging, external memory slot, AND LakeVu maps built in, in addition to what this device has all in the same packaging.

this is my 2md Garmin striker. I had the striker 4cv vivid which was on a kayak that I sold and replaced it with the striker 4 (no vivid which is crap imo, and I never used that option because it was so terrible). the striker 4 that I have now on a rhib constantly blinks (not reading depth) when the boat is going over 6-8mph. transducer is mounted solid and far away from motor and prop wash. it's just not a reliable fish finder.constantly have to slow down to see if I'm in the right depths while trolling. also if you want to mark bait or spot, you have to go through couple screens and options which takes valuable time from marking area. by the time you actually mark it, it's long gone. I use the man overboard to mark spots and even that still takes 2 screens to navigate and then have to navigate back to the split screens. terrible design for fishing. you should be able to just add a waypoint with one press instantly, and then have the option to rename later if you choose. this Garmin makes you name it when waypoint is added which is really slow.btakes a good 4-5 button presses to mark something. should've got the Garmin eagle or humminbird helix instead.
