Great watch, love everything it can do and track. Great battery life and very durable. Put this thing through all the paces and it has stood up. Very comfortable to wear. The amount of versatility this watch has is incredible for someone in the military or law enforcement or just your average Joe for hunting and outdoor use. I went back to Garmin from Apple. Would highly recommend
I purchased this watch less than a month ago and have made it my daily watch i wear to work, around the house, weekends. I was initially concerned about the size of the watch being a little too big, but it fits perfectly. the battery life is amazing; I still have not charged it since I got it.
This is my first Garmin watch, and after a couple of months with the Tactix 7 AMOLED, I'm genuinely impressed. Coming from a Samsung smartwatch, the difference is significant. Here's what I've really liked: Battery Life: One of the standout features. Compared to my previous Samsung watch, the battery life on the Tactix 7 is phenomenal. I don't have to think about charging it every day, which is a huge convenience. Built-in Flashlight: Surprisingly useful! It's something I didn't know I needed until I had it. Ease of Use: The interface is intuitive, and navigating through the menus feels natural—even as a first-time Garmin user. Health & Fitness Metrics: From sleep tracking to ECG and workout stats, it delivers a ton of useful data. Notifications: I've really enjoyed being able to read texts from my phone directly on the watch. It keeps me connected without needing to constantly reach for my phone.
This watch has been a very useful and cool tool to have. I've been able to track an array of activities with ease. Training at the gym, running, hiking, skiing, skydiving, hunting and shooting long range. The screen is easy to read, the buttons very positive to the touch. The are many face options to suit your taste and adapt to your usage. While there are many functions, i still found it easy to use. I am impressed by the battery life. I was already familiar with the ballistics software. I find it very convenient to have right on my wrist while hunting out west. Integrating atmospherics and current weather data while accessing it very quickly has allowed me to make the necessary corrections as efficiently and precisely as possible during high pressure hunting situations. The only criticism I have is that the sensor sometimes does not quite take a good reading of vitals and the watch has to be adjusted. But it's not a major fault.
The good: the features work as advertised The display is amazingly clear to read. I have a Tactix Delta and it is 2 steps up for readability which makes using maps really possible. Battery lifetime is better than expected for an Amoled display. I get 3 weeks with always on turned off and 2 2-3 hour workouts per week that use GPS. It charges fast due to USB C. The GPS location is faster than on my Tactix Delta I like the feel and texture of the buttons and the recessed sapphire glass. the Watch face that is standard has great customization features and there is no need to buy additional ones Worth Improvement: This is all software and could be remedied if Garmin wants to! I was not yet able to use Garmin Express on my Mac to connect to the watch. I get an error: "device not supported". I am able to use Garmin connect on my iPhone so I can make changes and load maps if desired. Neither Garmin connect nor Garmin Explore phone apps allow you to display routes and follow your course process on your phone. You have to use third party apps like trail forks to accomplish that. Come on Garmin this should be a simple thing to program! It would be useful if I use my phone in connection with my watch to track a route that I am following during a bike ride. The watch is very expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. The Delta is great and durable so time will tell how the Amoled technology holds out over the years.
I have owned the Tactix 7 amoled for a couple of months and I believe that this sport watch is not only great looking but it's features are incredible. It's a lot more than what I really need or use but the idea that all the sports features are available to you makes this watch incredible.
I'm no watch expert but I might be with how research certified I am with smart watches. First off, you can't beat Garmin in this category. Sure it isn't a Rolex and won't be flashy and some might think, eh a smart watch weirdo who prolly pretends to hike or do CrossFit, but it's the Lexus of smart watches. It's reliable like a Toyota but stylish like a Lexus. It is much better than a fruit or that Sam guy who sung terrible. I wish the AMOLED screen had the solar capability but I'll survive with a month long battery and not have to worry about it dying halfway thru my day. Cheers Garmin. I hope you continue to improve on the greatness you have now bestowed on my wrist. Oh and to the subject question. Yes.
I really enjoy the tactix 7 and all of it's features however my only dislike is the size options (only one 51mm). I would like the option of a 47mm. I understand the tactical aspect of it however the smaller size would wear better on me. Prior to purchasing the tactix 7 I had a 47mm epix pro (gen 2) sapphire edition and really enjoyed it.
I'm 6'3 and muscular and this watch fits my personality and build perfectly. It is tough. I have accidentally hit it, scraped it, and there is still not a mark or scratch on it. The major let down is that I cannot connect this watch to Strava or text messages. It would be perfect if I could do those couple of things. BUT if you are just looking for a watch with other incredible features, this is for you.
