I only have one trip with the GPS so far. Its big and easy to read. Lots of good information, and easy to figure out.
Convenience
Upgraded from a montana 700 to the tread 2 on my snomobile after a buddy got one. So much easier to see during the day time. And love the new navigation features that didn't work on the 700. I also really like the tread app for planning rides too.
Just had a chance to use the Tread2 this weekend. The GPS is great. Easy to create a route and save routes and way points. The clarity and detail of the GPS is great.
I have had this a few weeks and it has worked out great so far. I managed to get routes loaded even though I am not all that tech savvy. Would like that functionality to be a little better explained by Garmin. Navigating was easy and I was able to see the screen well in all weather conditions. The mount feels like a good solid connection and the install on the Tenere was a snap with the existing power wiring and a couple of matching connections. Overall a massive step up to using an iPhone!
Great navigator, easy to see day or night, I use it in offroad vehicles and on motorcycles. So far its been great in nasty wet weather and super hot conditions. It would be nice if the interface for uploading was a little more user friendly. I have had the best luck using SD cards to upload. The moto mount seems to be pretty secure so far. Overall a great product for adventure navigation.
I have had other Garmin GPS in the past bought this Tread 2 to use in my car and on my Enduro motorcycle. For a very expensive unit it lacks voice control and I also to buy a new Garmin Mini 2 to be able to text with it and get a better experience. I have to say I would give the Mini 2 5 stars but I regret paying this much for basic GPS that's is claimed to be weatherproof. Also apparently they took away the bird's eye view capabilities. It's nice and works well as a basic GPS nice screen and WiFi updates but that's about it.
I have several Garmin GPS devices.......this one is, by far, the most difficult to learn how to use......I finally got it to show off road tracks.....not sure how useful it will be....
