Worth it

Ernest L February 14, 2023

Used it on CDT and loved it. Lots of little features that come in handy. The charging dock would lose contact at times and wouldn't charge but after learning to really mash it into the mount and not relying on only going as far as the audible clicks, no issues.

Worked great on the NEBDR

Mark October 25, 2022

I bought this for my CRF300L, particularly to run the NEBDR and it performed great. There were a few rare instances where the screen flipped like your phone does into portrait or landscape mode when you don't want it to, but besides that this thing is awesome. It works great everywhere I have taken it, and its awesome to know where your going even without cell service.

Excellent Moto-GPS

Frederick R May 16, 2023

Purchased for an upcoming trip. Trip is some months away so I'm still learning various aspects of it. Very easy to read while riding. The feature where the map scale changes with the speed is outstanding. Mounting is very easy with the obvious exception of running the harness. That of course would depend upon what you're mounting it on. I am considering another harness for my other bike, too much trouble to move it from bike to bike. The mounting system is exactly the same as the RAM system, so I was able to use my existing RAM mirror mount to fit the XT onto my road bike. The extensions also work. I found the mid length RAM extension better suited to my needs. The uint does need a full overnight charge when you get it out of the box. You can turn off the screen and it will charge much faster. The software needed an expected update. Go to Garmin website and download the manual. It even yells at you for speeding! All in all, an excellent unit and I'm well satisfied.

Garmin Zumo XT Motorcycle Navigator

Raymond April 18, 2023

Took some getting used to the Garmin software, but the device is great. I use it on my CRF300L on every ride, both on and off road. Only 3 stars for installation because it does require some fiddling to locate power on the bike and connect the power leads, not hard just takes time.

Honda ATAS

Cal H September 13, 2022

The best thing about this is that you can see the screen in the sunlight. The worst thing is that Basecamp is a big hassle to use and there is a big learning curve. I've had it for a couple of years now and use it all the time. Glad I bought it but wish it was cheaper.

Good but not Great

Martin 99 August 29, 2021

Works great but lack of information of traffic even with drive app connected. Move convenient visually than a Mobile phone. Haven't try all feature yet but still not as good as tom tom from ride planning or add-on like showing specific store along you ride. At this price, I will also think the Car Adaptor should have been included. For USB, Can't believe it still the old USB mini and not the more recent type C.

Needs the ability to attach a Safety Cable or Cord to the unit.

A November 16, 2020

GPS is fine with the one glaring exception. Why would you design a MOTORCYCLE GPS without a way to clip a safety cord or cable to it? A GPS made for rugged off-road use should have a small clip or attachment built into it to allow a safety cable to be attached in the event it came loose from the cheap plastic mount.. Come on Garmin spend the extra nickel and fix this problem.

You ride a motorbike? get it, its nice!

OutdoorGuy March 7, 2024

Its a nice little moto-gps. Does what its suppose to, your little icon is a motorcycle so that's neat. I haven't tried it on any longer trips or the adventure slider/offroad setting, but I think it will perform very well, as it does around town. Comes with mount and everything you need. That being said the mount could have a wider range of turns for optimal views.. but it works well enough and there are extra aftermarket attachments if needed. all in all a good product.

Great hardware with overly complicated map support for "off road" features

Timothy February 6, 2023

The unit is very good and capable. The setup and integration of the unit was and continues to be overly complicated. That has less to do with the hardware than with how Garmin works. If I was to guess, the current complexity relates to an apparent transition from the traditional web based mapping support (basecamp) to the "Explore" cloud based map support. As a result that complexity may resolve itself in the near future. In the meantime give yourself many days to setup your unit the way you want it. Also, be prepared to do a lot of Google searches to figure out the unit capability's and functions as it relates to maps, tracks and routes and trip planning. Having said that, if you are using the unit to go from one address to another then it should be fine right out of the box. The complexity of the system comes with the other more off road features and functions.
