got this a little late in the season, though still had a raised bed that was about half planted, so gave it a try in the other half. This raised bed is a about 3 yrs old and the dirt is nice and settled in, so I was pretty impressed with how well this worked! It did a very good job and was easy enough to use (54f). I love the rechargeable battery, no gas, no cords, so easy and seems to last a good while too. Not sure this would work on previously untilled ground, but for raised beds and previously tilled gardens it should do a great job. Would recommend.
Arrived quickly, easy assembly no issues , charged the batteries over night and it works great !! Highly recommend the Garvee 20v tiller cultivater
Shipping was fast. The tiller is a lighter weight and easy to use. We have clay dirt with small rocks and it plows right through it with the sharp blades. The blades do get caught in the stringy roots if they are a lot of them, but easy fix with the touch of buttons. Love that has two batteries that provide plenty of power. Would recommend.
I was reluctant to purchase this unit, but glad that I did. The order, delivery and packaging were very good. I have a 50' strip in my back yard where I want to put a border. The area is overgrown with centipede grass so the first thing I did was weed whack it very good and rake off the cuttings. The ground is very poor with hard clay and sand, some stones, etc . The tiller went right to work, letting the tool do the job and not forcing it. A little back and forth and the tiller got down to full depth. Roots went flying and were well shredded. Of course, I expected to have to clean off the roots that wound around the cutter shaft. I sat down and pulled them off rather easily with gloves. I think I did this about every ten feet. When I was done, I went over the strip to remove debris with a rake filling one 13 gallon kitchen trash bag. Then ran the tiller back over the entire length in short order still on one battery for a total of about 75' of tilling before I changed the battery and finished the last 25' in no more than 10 minutes. Total time was about 1:20 including cleanings and drink break, the temperature was 89 degrees. This unit is well built, durable, heavy gear box, and a bargain. I have a lot of tools and this one is a keeper. Be careful on assembly that you match up the extension shaft electrical connectors or it won't start. I got it wrong the first time. Impressive battery life for the job. Impressive value. Didn't think it could handle my hard ground, but it exceeded my expectations overall . I'm trying to contact Garvee to inquire about their extended warranty terms and conditions twice today. I spent about 10 minutes each time on hold when they said to expect 3 minute wait time. Never did get through. Also, their phone tree answers with " no greeting, no greeting, no greeting" and disconnects. Tried other selections, but no luck. Finally, their email on their manual is "support.garvee.com", it doesn't work. The correct email is "[email protected]". It works, but I'm still waiting for a response to my request to inquire about their extended warranty and cost.
I am 64 year-old female, just under 5 feet tall This thing handles so well and cuts through better than I would have imagined. Such a great value! I just love it this for gardening projects. And PS my husband loves it when he doesn't want to pull out his bulky rototiller for his big garden to weed in between.
I love it!! so handy and easy to assemble. wonderful buy!
For the price, it's a very nice tiller. But for me, I wish the right hand grip had a side to side. Plus, check the screws on tiller head as they do work loose (in rocky dirt).Nice
Made my gardening much easier. Very helpful turning up the soil and getting rid of unsightly weeds.
I am an outdoor DIY person and have been needing a section of my yard tilled for over a decade. Kept putting it off because tillers are VERY intimidating looking. I saw this online a couple of days ago and had no idea they were made just like a weed eater??? Came within 2 days, easy to put together, love that it has 2 batteries and can hardly wait to use it. I am so relieved that the blades are NOT sharp. Surprisingly lightweight for seniors. Also relieved that it has a safety feature where you have to push 2 buttons for it to work so if I start it and it is too powerful, I just release the buttons and it stops.
I wanted to love this thing but when I was assembling it, it became clear that this thing was designed for someone who's at least five eleven. I'm five foot three and a hundred and thirty pounds. This thing is way too long for me. it extends way past my center of balance. If they would shorten it by one foot it would be much better suited for people under five foot eight. Which is, by the way, the majority of women.
