The power requirements were very low, especially for the snappy performance. I play a game called Raid Shadow Legends. There's a program called RSL helper that can link to the game in Windows 8.1 and higher. They worked seamlessly together on this laptop. The added bonus that I tried to take advantage of is that it can run directly from 12vdc. After a couple of successful runs, I decided to make an adapter. I got the polarity wrong so now I miss this laptop.

I needed a budget option to replace my mom's laptop, she is using it to basic office, email, youtube videos, nothing really demanding... her current laptop was a lenovo, its keyboard failed - common thing turns out. I saw this laptop on sale and went to check reviews... seemed like I am in trouble if I did pull it off... but for the price I decided to risk it, and I am glad I did... C'mon people, this is under $200 device, no, it does not have the latest and greatest, but it works very well for the purpose and built quality is nice. I remember paying $1000 for unit like this 10 years ago!!! The quality is comparable with the mentioned Lenovo and the latter one was more than twice as much couple years back. So shortly, if you are on budget and need a decent laptop, just go for it. I will not have WiFi 5G/6 or backlit keyboard; but it does have an expansion slot under for extra drive if local storage is needed, and for the price, it really is a good device!!! In reviews you can find the good old truth I was told in my 1st job: Ten happy customers will not bring you as much business as one unhappy will take away. All the never happy cheapskates who buy $30 airline ticket and expect 1st class, window seat, and 3 meals on a 2 hour flight, are here venting on this laptop how bad it is... it is not... trust me. If I had to buy it again, I would!!!

The laptop so far (had it 3 weeks) is a beauty, aesthetically. The camera on it is really good and clearer than my work HP laptop. I’m still getting use to the keyboard; however, it’s a nice silent touch keypad. THE ONLY issue is it keep getting disconnected from WiFi randomly as I am working, and I have to restart the laptop in order to reconnect to the WiFi. But for the price it’s a STEAL. It has USB-C and connects easily to external monitor.

Battery died within 6 months, which would've been ok as I don't mind plugging it in. But then wouldn't start Windows, kept hanging up when starting up. Was able to re-install Windows and it still would not work. Only hardware is covered under 1 year warranty, so not much hope for any fix.

I purchase this laptop in December and I hardly even use the thing. At most I'd say I used it about 40 times because I work from home, and use my desktop or work laptop mostly. In July after using it to full battery drain, it shut down. It won't power on and hasn't since that day. This was the first time it ever reach full battery depletion. I've charged the thing for hours, days, even a fullonth now, and it won't turn on. I've used the original charger. It's not the charger because my wife has a gateway computer with the same power rating and I've tried using her charger and she has even used my charger to even charge her laptop. I have never dropped, bumped, bruised, scratched, or scraped it ever. This laptop is still in new condition. I don't know if all Gateways are like this, my wife uses hers considerably more than I used this one, and hers it fine. Maybe it's the model, maybe this one a dud or maybe I've simply been taken. I saw it on sale cheap and instead of being cautious I fell for the bait. Either way this was my worst Walmart purchase EVER!!!

I purchased this laptop for my college student son. It only held up about 9 months before it started having pixel defects. It’s supposed to have a 1yr manufacture warranty but Gateway has given us run around after run around to avoid making the repair. Don’t waste your money. Gateway has horrible customer service.

I would give this product a "0" star for poor product and customer service. This was purchased as a gift, Christmas 2021. 3 weeks later, the screen cracked. The store replaced it. Now, 5 months later, the screen appears broken, however no visible damage to the device can be detected. The screen has lines and looks like broken pixels all over. Gateway would not replace the item. Im not sure if I'm more disappointed in the poor product or poor customer service. Either way, it is enough for me to recommend never purchasing a Gateway.

I opened this Laptop in February 2022 but bought it in November 2021 and it arrived mid December. It has two 'Z' keys, there is no 'X' key. The touchpad would triple and quadruple click and sometimes the cursor would stay is one spot. I had to use a mouse which isn't bad but it was a new computer. This runs so hot and in such short use. Over time and through no fault of my own it started warping. So much so that the touchpad itself has popped off halfway. The hinges have begun to separate and the lower left corner around the screen has cracked. I have been very gentle with this laptop, it has done this on its own and in just a matter months. Given that it runs hot, i can't often watch movies and streams that I would like to without putting it on sleep mode just to cool it down. It has shut off one me a couple times due to the heat. After all this the keyboard has had issues. Thankfully the keyboard is not malfunctioning at the moment but when I press certain keys it types extra letters, numbers or symbols. The 'L' key can act as an extra enter key which is irritating and pressing the '9' key can open a Windows tab. I have no clue as to why it has done this. It says the battery is up to 8 hours but I haven't got it to run for more than an hour and a half without the power cord. When the laptop is off, completely powered down, it loses battery life when it is unplugged. This really is the worst computer I have ever owned.

I bought this laptop in december. the cover has a crack in it. i called the company and they said it was from misuse and I have now voided the warranty all together, My laptop sits on my couch in a house with just 2 old people living here. If you are planning on opening your laptop on a regular basis I suggest you get a diffeernt laptop and don't count on the company backing their warranty

Bought 3 for Xmas 2021 within a few months all 3 stop charging. They were only used a handful of time. I called customer service they said the charger is bad but I must jump through hoops to get new chargers. Please don’t buy, this was a huge waste of money.
