Gbc Discovery 1100 Document Camera -

Set up and software installation was easy and seamless, I do wish the software were, I guess, embedded in the machine to make it plug n play but it's not a deal breaker. Upon first use I realised this device completely replaces an overhead projector and it's so compact. I like that the remote allows me to control the screen from around the room. I was most excited to attach this to our microscope and I was not disappointed. This is one cool device and it reminds me a little bit of the smart board. I was so excited trying out the Discovery 1100 Document Camera. It was easy to hook up and easy to use. It has a remote giving you the ability to move around. It doesn't take up a lot of room. I wanted for a while to try a system like this out but was not able to now I wish I had looked into it soon. I believe the class will enjoy it too. I teach Sunday school each Sunday. I teach the youth group so I am always trying to include visual tech in my lessons. This camera removed the clunky overhead projector and replaced it with a small and portable camera that does so much more. The zoom feature is awesome! I have been using this camera in class for about 2 months. There are pros and cons but I really want to discuss how it engaged the students. They really like that I was able to enlarge items on the screen. The students were able to see the minor details on the screen and I was able to talk about the finer points of our study. The kiddos were also able to help me use it. It did take me little time to get it just right, so I wish the setup was more intuitive. But the biggest pro is that the kiddo love being able to see the details on screen. It has enhanced my class plan and Im excited to use it more this fall!
