This a/c unit works great. Cools off my entire first floor with ease. Love the fact i can connect via wifi and monitor usage and set temp all while im away from home. Initial setup was a bit of a pain although i did not have another set of hands to help me. Instructions were relatively easy to follow. I will say be sure to remove the drain cap in the back of the unit as there is no mention of its existence in the instructions.
The ac unit works great, even in 110 degree weather, the room stays nice and cool. DO NOT pay to have their "pros" to install as they hire ANGI people and they won't show up to do the install but you'll still have to pay for it and you won't get any satisfaction from Angi.
I don't understand what everyone is talking about... it is NOT a loud AC... my 10,000 btu ones were 3x as loud!!! these DO HAVE A DRAIN PLUG, THAT MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE INSTALLING UNIT! Great air conditioner so far! :) my husband out the first together with a friend the 2nd unit by himself.. one upstairs, one downstairs.
Cools to a cold 64°a very large bedroom, a medium bedroom and a large connected living and dining room! HOWEVER, I hope you are mechanically inclined. Because this AC requires you to disasemble and remove the entire unit from the sheet metal box in order to reassemble the sliding curtains to block out open window. Took two of us an hour. Very heavy and a bit ambiguous and frustrating.
This GE 14,000 BTU(BRITISH THERMAL UNIT) 115-VOLT WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER IS AWESOME. It is smaller than the unit I just replaced and keeps both room and kitchen cool. I love the ease of self-installment at my window. I did have to get electrician to change outlet to accomodate this unit. However, I am extremely happy how it cools the living room and kitchen just like the bigger unit just replaced. I love the Economy Setting allowing for electricity savings. You can also control it via your smart phone. Love the technology.
Its a bear to get it into the window , but it really works great. cools down my living room and kitchen right now. its rated at 14000 btu , I'm sure that is underrated. It was in the 9os today it was set on low cool and people were complaining about being cold in my living room . you have to take the unit out of case to put the ears on it. you put the case in the window then you put the air conditioner back in the case. If it had not been so hot , after reading the instructions I would have sent it back. After a lot of swearing and the help of my room mate we put the 100lb unit into the window. a lot of assembly required for sure. It really works great. The instructions said that it draws a lot of amps. but it seems to draw less than the 8000 btu unit it replaced. Time will tell. oldbob70
It works great; it cools the entire bottom floor of my house. Installation - scary at first but you really just take the heavy part out and install the frame in the window and then slide the heavy part back in. My only complaint is that it makes a ticking noise which the booklet says is from water being flung to the back of the unit.
The air conditioner works great, but came with a broken dowel tab adjuster that holds the air vent to the main unit. A little gorilla glue and ta-da, fixed! Also, if you have a 26" window (the minimum required for this unit) you may have some resistance and coaxing to do to get it in place! But it was $350 bucks on clearance from $520, so overall a good deal!?!?
Pretty sure I got a refurbished AC even though it's advertised as brand new. I took it apart to install the attachments per the instructions and inside the AC itself there were three different spots that had dirty epoxy clay wrapped around it. The inside of the temperature display casing had spots where the plastic was broken, and there were a few others spots with broken plastic. However, the AC gets cold and seems to be working fine but just not sure how long that statement will hold true. I know ACs are in high demand around this time of year but it's very upsetting that I paid close to $500 for something used and held together with epoxy.
Broken item with coolant or whatever liquid leak out. At first I thought it was just a bit but I let the handyman contracted by walmart to install it. He thought it was weird too. He told me that was a bent on the left corner and when it opened up inside, we saw a bent copper pipe thing. Coolant is leaking everywhere,. I saw review of people complaining on the same thing but I didn't think it would happened to me. Also Walmart online shopping is confusing. They mixed picked up and delivery together and I couldn't tell which is which. In the end two items were not picked up. Originally I wanted everything to be picked up but I was not given than option. Now I am hoping that 4 years warranty or less than 30 days warranty would help me out to exchange for a new one. I am not happy (mad/angry). They should put fragile, do not throw around or handle with care. Why risking customer return or exchange good when they could avoid this in the first place. Another problem is the shipper, they should handle all this with care too!
