GE 14.1 Cu. Ft. Frost-Free Upright Freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit replaced a 20 year old GE freezer similar in size. A little more capacity. Better shelving. Improved lighting and significantly quieter. Temperature at about "0" degrees. Just what we needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had the freezer for a few months. It replaced an ancient chest freezer. We are pleased with the capacity, the ease of retrieving items and assessing what's there, and the even temperature. We don't know but imagine that the unit will be far more energy-efficient than the old chest freezer.

Our old Kelvinator freezer was becoming unreliable. We searched the website and found exactly what we needed -- garage ready and frost-free. The temperature reading on the outside of the freezer, the light inside, the bin at the bottom, and the shelving are a great improvement to what we had.

The freezer is so quiet, you can't even tell that it's plug in. The capacity is outstanding and I love the turbo freeze feature. My power bill actually went down after I purchased this freezer to replace another GE that I had which was over 20 years old. The shelves are spaced perfectly and my ice cream is kept at the perfect temperature.

We have had upright freezers before and they have been ok, however this GE freezer is wonderful, easy to understand the controls and so easy to see what I have in there. I especially like that it is garage ready. I hope to have a long and happy life with this GE freezer.

We love the fact that this freezer has the temp controls on the outside of the door. (With previous freezers, food items would bump into the control and alter the temp, then we'd have to unload foods to get to the control itself.) We like the wire metal shelves which allow an even temp flow throughout. We like the wire metal basket that allows us to pull it out to reach foods inside. This freezer is quiet, and keeps our foods frozen rock-solid. The door compartments are nice for smaller items like cans of juice, etc. It's everything we hoped for.

Because I like GE products I was willing to wait three weeks to receive it. It's quiet with great capacity. I will recommend this product to anyone looking for a small upright freezer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like everything about this freezer, except for the fact that it does not show the inside temperature on the control panel. It only shows the setting that you have for the temperature.

Bought this last month. We lost power. The manual states an alarm will sound if the temp is too high. It says the temp alarm will sound again in 6 hours if the temp isn't restored. We never heard an alarm UNTIL we reset the power. That does us no good because we lost every thing in the grerzer. Then I I tried to write customer relations department based on the email in the warranty packet but that e mail wasn't valid.
