GE FCM16DLWW 15.7 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer

Great quality, very efficient storage and I love the visual alarm for power loss and audible alarm if the temperature raised to high. Still filling the chest up but all products freeze quick and frost is minimal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loving it so far- it's been in place (in our garage) and up and running for just over a month. The rails with the four baskets is handy and should help us keep things more organized. Hoping NOT to loose anything down the the bottom of the unit and find it months (ok, maybe years later- but that was an isolated incident and to be fair it was a small package of beef.) The lid is solid and sturdy and I appreciate the brightness of the LED light. It cooled down quickly to temperature after unpacking so we could get it loaded up right away. We bought this model as it was EnergyStar compliant, garage ready and the right size for our needs (2 person family, but with homegrown fruit, veg and livestock that is processed and frozen).

We like the looks and the capacity of or new 15.7 cu.in. freezer. We also like the temperature control location and the added ease of separating foods with the baskets. So far all is great!

This chest freezer was purchased to replace a smaller unit that was only 5 years old. The GE 15.7 cu ft freezer has much more storage and 4 very clever baskets that allow for different heights to fit below them. We really appreciate these features as well: quiet running, external lights to indicate power outage, interior light that shines brightly, self-holding hinged top, Energy-Star rating and low kWh use, sleek exterior design, and value.

The freezer is a GE replacement. It has the same defect as the previous freezer. I am currently waiting for a new sensor and circuit board, which are backordered. The freezer runs at -30 °F on any setting and is costing extra money each month.

We bought this freezer April 2025. Almost immediately it started frosting over. Now I have to chip the frost off of the corners periodically so it shuts right. It also has plastic rails to hold the baskets in place that have already broke off.
