[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been buying GE for over 40 years, and will keep buying them. My microwave is still as great as the first one
Excellent product. Replaced like product that lasted 20 years.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mt GE Microwave is great! The capacity and heating are great for heating medium casserole dishes to warming up a plate.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a large capacity microwave, much better than the one I had previously. (My previous microwave was also a GE with the same features, etc) but this one is better in my opinion. The installation was easy and quick. Heating is stronger. Need to be careful when choosing the cooking time. Sensor and ventilation are good.
Extremely easy to use, compared to our last microwave. The Reheat function is fantastic and I use it every day (not sure how the sensor in the unit determines how long to heat the food, but everything comes out perfectly! Installation was easy but we had a complication because our old unit was larger and we needed spacers on both sides to make it fit and look right. Once done it looks perfect in the spot.
I replaced my previous older GE microwave oven with an new identical GE microwave oven that had the "exact same model number". Thereby I would be able to use the same wall bracket and upper cabinet holes, That would eliminate the need for the arduous task of installing new rear wall bracket and drill yet more mounting holes in the cabinet above the microwave. I was VERY surprised and VERY disappointed to find that my new GE microwave oven with the identical model number as my previous older GE microwave oven, has all new different mounting bracket and specifications compared to the previous microwave. In product design world, you DO NOT make significant design changes (particularly those that affect the customer directly) without changing the part number. At the very least this is poor engineering and at the very most unethical.
Replacement for similiar GE model installed in 2015 (new construction) that died. Only issue with this new one is how the glass turntable plate is bigger than the interior of the microwave. Since we are not tall people, we have to be care not to dump the hot food when removing it. Definitely a design flaw and hazard.
This is the model that was suggested to replace the old 2013 model. It seems to be a nice unit. It seems to feel a little cheaper made than the older model. It still has halogen range light instead of led. The biggest complaint is the installation I had to drill new mounting holes for the rear and over head mounting. Why there isn't an industrial standard across the board or at a minimum by brand would be a big plus. I live in a home that was built in 2010 and apparently has had 3 microwave replacements as the number of holes I counted in the wall and cabinet. Overall the new unit is nice looking and does the job it was designed to do.
This was a replacement for an almost identical earlier model. All is fine except for a couple of items. First off, the bottom frame came out of the box bent at the rear corner. This made it impossible to install the fan filter on that side. Fortunately, I am handy and was able to gently bend the frame back to a close approximation of normal so I could slide in the filter. The second issue is the lack of a printed user manual. I mean how much does it cost to print one and include it with the unit as it ships from the factory? Not everything needs to be online. The GE brand has lost much of its luster over the years, so I'm not surprised by these issues. Had they not been present, I would have given this product a review of at least four stars.
We had this microwave installed when we built our house 5 years ago and had it vented outside, so far we've had to replace the magnetron and diode twice and the latch assembly once. Because we purchased the slate model to match the other appliances we opted to repair versus replace.
