This is the fastest washer I have ever used and my clothes came out super fresh feeling. The noise level was low compared to my previous one. I am so happy I chose this product for my household.

Originally, I wanted a Speedqueen but they were too expensive. I went with this set and I'm so glad i did. I read the reviews about the noise. Honestly they are the same noise level as my last set maybe even quieter. You can adjust the legs on the bottom to level the machine out. This set washes and dries clothes in no time. I live the simple knobs, that it has an agitator, a large wash drum and that you can open the lid and add more clothes while it's filling up. Super happy i bought this.

It washes clothes fine, but may need supervision since it can move during spin cycle, looks like there is no auto balancing. Note, the machine is so loud during washing cycle. I wouldn't buy it if I knew this. It's a shame that GE didn't address this issue for over 15 years. Also, the washing doesn't start if the lid is open. So unnecessary…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The purchase of GE washer model GTW485ASW0WB has been the worst purchase we have ever made! This is the second washer that we have received after returning the first one purchased. It has the same problem as the first - the washer only dispenses water when the lid is open. Since it is the second on received I had the service tech verify water is coming into the machine. It seen to work for a few washes. I have seen other reviews stating there seems to be a problem with lid lock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worst washer I've had. Ran a cycle and that was it. Repair man repaired the lid lock under warranty. It did two loads after that. It does two spurts of water and then sits on fill/sensing light until it times out.

This washer performs well enough washing my clothes, but is extremely loud and makes ungodly noises that can be heard through two doors and on different floors of my house throughout the different cycles. I tried to attach videos so you could listen for yourselves, but am only able to attach one. If you provide an email to which I can send the other video, I will be happy to share same. I contacted the seller repeatedly but they said this machine is very loud and this is how it performs. I have difficulty believing that is the case, and that there isn't something wrong with this machine. I am most disappointed as I sought out a GE intentionally. Terrible washing machine! I've only had it for just less than a year and the same issue keeps happening. The internal guts of this machine looks cheap as the parts look chinsy. Also, I am reporting an issue with my washing machine that appears to be a recurrence of a problem previously repaired in June 2025. On Sunday, December 21, 2025, while doing laundry, I noticed a familiar noise that reminded me of the issue I experienced earlier this year. On Friday, December 27, 2025, when starting a new load, I heard the same noise again. Today, December 28, 2025, when I went to transfer the wet clothes to the dryer, I discovered that the washing machine had not completed its cycle. The drum was still full of water with the clothes inside. I attempted to restart the machine, but shortly thereafter, I noticed a burnt smell coming from it, at which point I stopped using the unit. The last repair for this same issue was completed on June 20, 2025.
