GE - 5.0 Cu Ft High-Efficiency Stackable Smart Front Load Washer w/UltraFresh Vent, Microban Antimicrobial & 1-Step Wash+Dry - White

Really liked the washing machine when it was installed in our new construction house. We have had Samsung or LG machines in the past, but I wanted a large washer, so we went with the GE washer and dryer as a set. They worked very well for several months, and then the washing machine door locked and displayed several error codes. The repair man came and determined we needed a new control board and has ordered it. We will be without a washing machine for 2-3 weeks. Not at all what I expected from a GE top of the line machine. We are very disappointed and wish we had stayed with LG or Samsung.

I've had this washer for four years. In that time I've tried a multitude of different detergents and washer settings: automatic detergent dispensing, manual, cold water, hot water, warm water, extra soil level, low soil level, you name it. Not once have my clothes ever come out smelling clean. At best they smell like nothing, and at worst they just smell a little bit like stale body odor. This is across all fabric types and is not related to the funk that “active wear” can get. Mostly I've felt like I've been walking strong wearing dirty clothes for years. Certainly not worth the premium price as it barely performs its main function.

The first year we had this machine I loved the capacity, the odor guard and the tank to hold laundry soap. We have had to replace the control panel 3 times. One repair person said it's a known issue, one said cheaper to buy and new one and buy the extended warranty. Not only is the repair cost high but the inconvenience of not having a washer for 2+ weeks while they order parts is difficult. Unfortunately this washer is considered top of the line for GE. Replacing it with another brand means a set that doesn't match.

Owned for almost three years and now it's dead. Service guy diagnosed as inverter is bad. A little research shows this as a common issue with these machines. What happened to machines lasting ten plus years? When a person pays premium money they expect more life than this! Due to the fact this machine is out of warranty, I'm sure there's no way that the manufacturer will help in any way. Really disappointed in this machine and it's failure.

After less than 3 years old, the noises coming from this machine will wake the dead! If it decides to enter the spin cycle it sounds like a jet aircraft taking off! Apparently the pump and part# WH03X29524 Washer Drive Motor has a bad bearing. So much for 10 year warranty on that. Maybe send me the parts and my husband will fix it.

I have had this washer for approximately 2 to 3 years and it has already broke down. I have spent the last eight weeks with an appliance service trying to fix this item and they have installed three control panels, a new door lock, and a new motor and my washer is still not working. I paid so much money for this washer and for to last such a short period of time, it was not worth my money. Once one issue begun, additional issues have a rose.

Not very impressed. Have had three parts go bad within the first two years. Machine works great However if you buy this machine I would recommend spending the xtra money and buy the warranty

This is the worst washer/dryer set I have ever owned. Within 1 year and 20 days the control board on the dryer went out. Then within 20 months the washer control board went out. The set I had previously lasted for 12 years with zero issues. This set has been NOTHING but problems from the beginning. Odor control is a CROCK. It doesn't get the clothes clean. And I have spent more in repairs that aren't covered by the limited warranty than I did on the whole set.

After limited use I need to replace my washer. The washer stops at the s pin cycle and the drain fills with water . After two visits by a repairman and a new drain , the drain will still not work properly. I will look for a replacement that is not GE!

Washer broke down after only 2 years. Would have cost way too much to repair. Went back to an LG washer. I do not recommend this GE washer.
